Good choice, HogBreath!  I've got an '03 DuraMax with 210,000 miles on it.  I mean hard miles, too.  WFO, if you get my drift.  Still gets between 20 and 24 MPG, depending on how heavy my foot is.  Good lookin' Truck!  Later--HUBBARD

Thanks Carl, I looked at the Fords, I just didn't like them. What I'd really want is a Chevy with the Cummins engine and Allison Transmission.

I agree Ken, I can't believe it's as strong either, and now that Cummins has the 6.7 with the Dodge 6-speed tranny it's a hard combo to beat.  I'd love to have the Cummins/Allison combo though.  That would be idea.

Congrats on that, hacksaw.  Tough to top that Cummins.  Mine is an 05 5.9, 1T, quad cab, dually, 4X4, with the 48RE 4 speed auto into 3.73s.  I can't imagine having two more gears.  Plenty of power for me.  I ain't got nuthin' against Ford or Chevy, but they don't have a Cummins Turbo Diesel.  Having been around CTDs since 1984, I'm sold on them........so Dodge it is for me.

I have to agree with you.  I have an 06 5.9, 3/4T, Mega Cab, 4x4 with the 48RE into a 3.73, single wheel rear axle.  It has so much power and pulls my 36 ft 5th wheel toyhauler with no problems.  Until someone else offers the Cummins in a pickup, it will be a Dodge for me.

hey wadeaminit bro!!  You take on JD on your own.    Ain't no way I want that woman mad at me.     But it is a great way to travel and take the "toys" along with.  Very comfortable living.  :-)  Take JD out to look at a couple and you won't have to convince her at all.

Tires are 'spensive.  Spent $1440 and change on six tires for the ton truck in April.......and they go quick.  Stockers saw 32K.  Second set saw 36K.  We'll see how these hold up.........but I'm keeping my truck.

We should be seeing a Cummins in the Ford for 2010.  They're already selling the Cummins motor in a rebadged Dodge chassis at the Sterling dealers here.  They get the cab chassis versions and put a Western Hauler bed on them.  It will be easy then to move the motor over to the Ford chassis in another year.  I'll stay with my 7.3 for another couple of years yet, it's only got 230k on her.  Just starting to get broken in.  The Cummins in the Ford chassis will be sweet.
