Twolanerider does on his 05 Cherry Bomb. MJZ does on his 03 SERK and lots of others as well Jacques. They look great but you want to also break down and buy the rocker boxes that match I couldn't find the P/N, but I'm sure Twolane can give it to you

Jacques, they may be aftermarket but they look exactly like parts that are sold in a Harley box.  If they're aftermarket I'd not be afraid to guess they must come from the same OE.

They're nice parts.  The tubes are much thicker than the stock thin steel tubes.  They'll work fine with adjustable pushrods though.

They are thick enough, however, that big beefy cylinders like Axtell's will be a problem.  On mine I had to take the pushrod tubes to the bench grinder to make a flat spot on their back side to clear the cylinders.  Any other cylinder I've seen wouldn't be a problem though.

Brian mentioned a matching rocker box set.  They do complete the look if you wanted to go ahead and the pull the tank.  I got mine on eBay for cheap $$ but new Harley charges a ton for them.  They are part number 17658-03.  Installed they look like:

By the way, compared to what Harley charges for their version of the blocks and tubes that eBay listing is a phenomenally good price.  Were I in the market for those parts I'd scoop them up in a heartbeat Jacques.

I agree with you, the billet rocker boxes will match perfectly.   8)
But they are 400$ with discount for HD parts.
I need to found these on the aftermarket...  ::)

I got curious, and the eBay link still works. I went on to look at the other offers from the seller, JSE Parts, and found many parts at extremely low prices. Has anyone besides Jacques, who seem to be happy, ordered from them?

Ride safely,

Not only is the ebay listing a lot cheaper it is more complete.  The Harley branded package for the tubes doesn't include the upper tube.  You have to use that over again.  So your take offs aren't a complete set.

No report before the end of February !  :(

In October 2008, I've planned with my dealer for the recall and other work in January 2009.

Last Thursday, he let me know that the recall parts are not arrived !

Bad news for the beginning of this year !

They're not having much better luck getting recall parts for the guys here either Jacques! Hang in there! How ya doin man? Happy New Year to ya! :drink: :2vrolijk_21: :huepfenjump3:

Youze guys got me sucked into the lifter block thing now. But no sense in getting the PRT's if they don't play well with the Axtell Cylinders. I asked that EBay guy if he'll sell the Lifter Block Kit separately. I'll let youze know! ;)

Today, I pick up my bike to the dealer after the recall's work.

Bad news, the Cam Billet Push Rod and Lifter Block Kit are not moutable on the 110 ci.
Not enough room for billet pushrod and lifter bloc with the cylinders !

My dealer says me that it was necessary to grind the cylinders and he had not made.

I've sent a mail to the seller.

Jacques,

The lifter blocks will fit fine.  The "outside" tube will fit in each cylinder will fit fine.  The "inside" tube needs to have clearance machined (machine the tube itself) to provide the necessary clearance with the cylinder.  There is plenty of material to machine clearance without worry of breaking thru the tube wall.  You can either machine clearance on a small mill or, more crudely, use a bench grinder...

I have done this, and TwolaneRider has done with success (and maybe others..).

Jacques, sorry to read of the problem.  Scott Dunbar and I both had what may be a similar issue with those tubes using them with Axtell cylinders.  Axtell cylinders are larger than OE.

At least with the Axtell cylinders these tubes would work.  They just had to be clearanced some on a bench grinder.

Do you've mounted the lifter block on a 110 ci ?

I also have the set with the rocker covers. I have not mounted them as of yet. When I change the heads, cams  and TB on the bike I am going to do the install then. Glad you guys have posted about the clearance problem.

Not a big surprise a shop tech would not rush to do this Jacques.  In their world things either fit or they don't fit.  They're not trained nor paid to improvise; even when it's obvious or simple.

So, I've made the measurements (sorry in millimeters)

For the first part :
It made 15 mm and we've only 13.5 to 14 mm.

For mounting it's necessary to gring the side of the cylinder.

Conclusion : not enough room , need 1 to 2 mm more .

Not a big job but for a Tech, it's not possible because it's not plug and play  :soapbox:

Sorry Jacques.  This is too bad as those pieces are a nice looking addition.

How does the bike run out now with the rest of the work done?

I agree with you, Don, these parts have a nice looking.
Now, it'll be for the next winter, when I'll mount myself.

Concerning the rest of the work, it's not really an improvement without the right MAP.
I've put a request in the MAP's thread but nobody send an answer.
Without a right basemap, it's difficult and I've not a good tuner in my area.

For my '07, it was better with the TMAX auto....
