Interesting video!
Thanks Monty!

 :2vrolijk_21:

You didn't get that video with your 09 Chip?

The ABS and the new frame are leaps and bounds in progress! :2vrolijk_21:  No, I'm not just saying that because I have one......I don't.  I still ride an 04 SEEG.  However, I've rode an 09 and they are a huge improvement in several areas, ABS being one of them.

The ABS should save some lives as it should make it hard to lock up and relesae the back brake causing a high side.

;D :jalapen :jalapeno:  the abs system is well worth it.    Saved my hinney on 2 seperate occasions.    both times cars stopped unexpectedly in front of me. I feel both times with a non-abs would have been like the stuffed garfield on the window with 4 suction cups.   Will not have another touring scoot without it.

I think the video was also handed out with the '08's. At least I got one. Besides that, the ABS works fine and it actually makes you realize how often the non-ABS brakes would result in a longer distance to come to a stop. From a safety standpoint, it's now a must.

Ride safely,

I had a test-ride on a 2009 ultra 2 month ago and I never thought of replacing my bike before that , i love my Fatboy ( a 2007 Fatboy , modified to my personal wishes but not yet finished , put in 6k Euro in it )  .
But after the test-ride i was convinced that i have to have THIS brake , so ...... what to do ..... searching through the h-d-models what will fit best to me and ordered it .
A must-have in my opinion , and the new frame in addition , wow . 8)

I'll never buy a bike without them again, and we're currently looking into how my wife can handle a touring bike so she can have Cruise and ABS too.

SB,

Would you believe that I only know the song from Shrek?   ;D  NAh, didn't think so, but it was worth a shot.  But really, knowing the Monkys doesn't make you old.  Knowing that it's actually spelled "The Monkees" and the I'm a believer was written by Niel Diamond... Now that makes me old.  So let's not even mention that it was released on More of the Monkees in 1967 (But released as a b-side in 1966 to Not Your Stepping Stone.  So knowing what a b-side even is... Now that makes me ancient.

Ride Safe,
J-Carr

P.S. I'm only 41 but I was a DJ & Musician so actually I'm not old, just full of useless musical knowledge.

I like them, but watch that you don't go too heavy on that front brake without using the rear.  I almost lost mine a few times last weekend riding in a parade.  I was going extremely slow and just tapped the front brake and let's just say the front brake is a little more sensitive than my Road King was.  I think I learned a valuable lesson at very low speed.  It might not be so bad at higher speeds, but I will always use both brakes at low speeds on this bike from now on.

Actually, you'll find that on any of the Brembo equiped bikes, with or without ABS.  They have a much quicker grab and hit's difficult to feather them light enough to use just one.  Not saying it can;'t be done, just that these new Brembos will stop that thing quick.  I for one don't mind, since as a former dirt rider have always used both brakes unless trying to slide one end or the other.

Ride Safe,
J-Carr

The Ride Like A Pro training course.....one of the first things they teach you....never use your front brake at slow speed. :nixweiss:  I've rode for several generations but it's amazing how that's changed my riding.

I don't think I'm going to ride in any more parades.  When you are putting along just a few feet at a time, with both feet down, and when you move, you know you are only going a few feet, it's tough not to just keep the feet almost dragging on the ground and to have to keep putting your feet up to use the rear brake.  I know that this is almost identical to being stuck in a lengthy traffic jam, but of course, I wouldn't purposely put myself in the traffic jam either.  Guess I'll just pass on parades from now on.
