Freedom Cycles Pipes on a 88"
« on: September 29, 2005, 01:19:07 AM »

While up in Reno at Freedom cycles we discussed using their setup on a 88" bagger. My Brother just bought an 06 Roadglide and really like the pipes. Brad had just finished the week before doing a custom map for thier pipes on an 06 88" Here is the Dyno sheet.

The chart looks really good with virtually no dip in the torque curve. Pretty impressive for true duals on an 88"er. My brother will be ordering a set very soon!

The dip is still there. Look at the difference between the two curves at 2500. Almost no difference.
A good pipe would do wonders in this rpm range.

Yeah, I know. The sound and the looks are superb. But performance is

A good set of 2 in 1's will give you the same TQ increase all over the curve.
This graph shows an increase of only 2/4 ftlbs at 2500 but more than 10 at higher rpm.

What's a dip? I just wanted to point out that there is something to gain between 2000 and 3500 rpm. If you don't care about this range, it's fine for me.

A dip would be a decrease or lowering of the torque curve. There is clearly no dip on this run. And this dyno sheet does show that there is a gain of about 11 ft/tq in the range of 2000 - 3500 Rpm. The torque peaks in the 3500-4000 rpm range which is where most would want it to be. These pipes have been optimized to reduce if not eliminate the historic dip in the torque in the lower RPM range. As I stated before lets see your sheet with the 2-1

I will have a dynoprintout compairing a WB 2 in 1 and a Rinehart TD before end of the year. Just setting up our new dyno.
