While my father-in-law never rode, my mother-in law used to be a BSR in her younger years....
2 years ago, "Dad" complained of pain in his abdomen... What they found was a mass the size of a softball close to his stomach.
They removed the mass and tests indicated it was cancerous... removing the mass also meant removal of most of his stomach.
Dad recovered from the surgery, underwent chemo and radiation and was doing well... 1 year goes by and follow-up shows spots are now in his liver. (Liver Cancer is almost always terminal)
The docs treat the cancer agressively, but the medicine is too strong, and starts changing Dad's skin color and his hands are dry and brittle... docs say to stop the medication... 3 weeks later, Dad's skin color returns and things look good...
Dad is still losing weight, but is still in good spirits... but he understands whats happening...
This week, the Docs told him to cease all meds, and they were referring him to hospice care... All family members have been called.
We dont know how long, but time is short... so please, say a prayer for Hal, his wife Theresa, and the rest of the family...
Thanks
Rob
