Five out'a Eight. Missed Elvis, Blake, Bronson. That doesn't look like Bronson's Bike. Had forgotten about Electra Glide in Blue. Didn't see the Elvis Movie. Sure do like his music, though. Greatest Entertainer ever, IMO. Thank you, Thank you very much! HUBBARD

Missed Clint Eastwood's and Robert Blake's........got the Elvis 305cc Honda SuperHawk (cause I had one exactly like it as my only means of transportation in the mid-sixtys). So, I guess that makes me a old whatever just like JC. Har! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] spyder

Don't know how many folks saw the special hosted by Jesse James a week or so ago. I was a mile off on who built the bikes for the movie EasyRider Damn can't remember the guyd name now. He was the guy Sugarbear got his start with Say what you will about Jesse, but he pays tribute to these old guys a lot, donates time and money to keeping shop classes going in California High Schools

Read this and remembered something on it in a book I have. See page 121 of Harley Davidson: The good, the bad and the legendary. This is what the overleaf says...Peter Fonda bought four former LAPD Panheads - one 50, two 51's, and a 52. He designed them with the exception of the 42* rake that was suggested by Cliff Vaughs, "black activist and sometimes motorcycle customizer." Will look to see if there is anything else said about the "greatest on-the-road hippie bikes."

Hubbard, out of same book, you need to read the story about the $4M Elvis bike (a gift from James Dean). It says MoCo won't confirm story.

Just watched the part of this show again that talks about the builder of the Easyrider bike (BTW it says he built both bikes "Easyrider & Billy Bike"). His name was Benjamin "Benny" F. Hardy Sr. It states in this episode that Cliff Vaughs was the "coordinator" of this build. From what I can get out of this is that Benny Hardy probably built the actual parts, and perhaps he and Cliff put them together or either Cliff assembled the bikes.

Thanks - A while back I had looked for info on Ben Hardy to no avail. It was a different time for sure, not like today with the "Big Name" builders getting glory and mega bucks for their builds. Sadly race surely played a part, but you'd think the story behind the build of what was arguably the most rekowned custom chopper in history, would be better documented. It could be its own 1 hour documentary that would be more interesting than the latest American Chopper useless creation.
