Up Grade Questions 110 Intake-Exhaust-Tuner 2010 SEUC
« on: March 06, 2010, 12:45:41 PM »

I am planning on installing a HD Heavy Breather, Reinhart True Duals and Mufflers, along with a SERT on a 2010 SEUC. Does anyone have any dyno sheets with these mods?  I would also like to hear about changes in rideablity, for better or worse. Thanks in advance for your thoughts

If it were me I would go with the appropriate Doherty Power Pacc for the intake: http://www.dohertymachine.com/index.php?cPath=2_27

For exhaust I would consider a Fatcat 2 into 1 with quiet baffle or the new concentric baffle:
http://www.danddexhaust.com/catalog/2009/09/556-31.htm  This pipe will give you low-end torque that comes in early (torque curve shifted left) which is good for our heavy CVO Ultras in the rpm range in which we most often operate.

D&D also offers the Fatcat 2 into 1 (black or chrome) with a Zippers High Flow Air Cleaner (as a package) and claim that no download (tune) is necessary.

If I were going to add a tuning device I would go with the Mastertune TTS which is basically an advanced design of the original SERT. The engineer who developed the SERT for Harley has moved on and now offers the Mastertune TTS:
http://www.mastertune.net/HD_master_tune.html

These suggestions are just my humble opinion having a FLHTCUSE with a 107CI conversion including Rinehart True Duals and a SERT. As you can see by my attached Dyno Chart my numbers are good, but my torque comes in about 800 to 1000 rpms later than it would with a Fatcat 2 into 1 with a quiet baffle.
With the Fatcat 2 into 1 with quiet baffle I would expect approximately 100 ft/lbs of torque by 2200-2300 rpms rather than about 3250 as seen on Dyno chart.

Where you want your torque to come on is really a personal choice based on riding style. However, with a heavy bike, especially riding 2up, early torque is considered desirable by most and the "seat of your pants" dyno will really be enhanced.

My build is as follows:

NRHS Stage 2 CNC welded & ported TC 88 heads (1.90 intake and 1.615 exhaust) set to 87cc to achieve 10.2:1 compression (swapped out my 103 heads)
Andrews Hydraulic Cam Conversion Kit with Andrews 54N cams
Bored Cylinders to 3.938 and installed CP 107FT forged pistons
Changed out injectors to SE 4.90 gms/sec
SE High Flow Air Cleaner and Rinehart True Duals with Performance Baffles
Dyno Tuned - SERT

104 Max Pwr      112 Max Trq

Tom, What do think about changing the drive sprocket to a 30 or 31 teeth; to pick up that low giddy up?

I like the idea, but I would first do the intake (Doherty or Zippers) and 2 into 1 Fatcats with a the quiet baffle, and a good tune. You might be pleasantly surprised by the increase in performance. If you feel you need more lower end after that, then maybe address the gearing or a cam change. Of course then you would need another tune = more dollars  :(

If you go the gearing route, one benefit of 30t vs primary change is it does not put more stress on the starter especially if you increase compression at some point. Belt adjustment is not a big issue (around 1/4") unless your belt is already stretched.  More labor for the 30t. vs primary gear change. You may need to recalibrate the speedo however.

I removed the Cat, Rinehart slip-ons(with quiet baffle material added), Stage1 AC and the PC V with autotune from Fuel Moto on my 09 SE.  Don't have my Dyno sheet handy (new computer) but the HP was 96.7 and torque was 111.

I agree with the comment about the D&D Fatcats, other than the loudness (and I tried all three baffles ie performance (OMG), regular and quiet), they provied the best overall increase of performance on my 07 SE.  Low end torque was greatly improved.  That said, even with the "quiet " baffles they were loud.  Much louder than my Rineharts.   The removal of the cat made a huge difference.  Noticed very little difference in the stock SE mufflers when I switched to the Rineharts (love the sound after the baffle material was installed).  Then I installed the Stage 1 AC and the PC V with autotune and a world of difference.  Gobs of power and torque and better (yes better) gas mileage.  Haven't touched since.

On of my 103 SE buddies just installed the Black D&D fatcats and they look great, sound great but are loud.

2 into 1 is the best performance.  But loud.

I like the PC V with autoutune because I don 't have to go back to the dyno after I change something.  That said, I'm sure I coudl get more out of the bike with a five or six hour tune.

Love the bike, havent got to put too many miles on it, the weather finally got into the 50's here so we rode yesterday and will ride today. I didnt ride the bike stock, because we bought it in the winter, so I'm not sure how it compares to a stock 110 SEUC. Its alot different than my 06 Fat Boy. Our 103 Fat boy was alot quicker, but I didnt by this to be a bar hopper.

Great numbers for Stage 1 modifications! Torque comes on and peaks really early. SE255 cams?

Attached is my 07 Street Glide dyno sheet. Motor had a 110 cu in kit, 255 cam, SE stage 1 A/C, Rinehart True Duals using the SERT for a tune. Torque came on early and pretty much in the "normal" riding range. Very strong motor. I traded this scooter in on the 08 SERK. Wasn't ready for the fairing thing yet, or now for that matter. FWIW. Good luck with your mods.

Thanks....wasnt sure if they were good or bad? You see and hear so much about 110's and the numbers they are getting out of them with just the same changes I made and they are all alot higher. No cam change stock 110 cams.
