Roly, i am the R/C for the Wichita,Ks area for the Patriot Guard Riders. All of the K.I.A.'s in this area are handled by the Kansas Patriot Guard(  2 of the original 3 that started the whole movement) .In this area the PGR normally only gets to handle retired military ,which is still an honnor . Although i didn't serve in the military I did spend 4 yrs with the S.O. reserve.

Ron, By any chance did you do the mission in Augusta a few years ago, for an Army helicopter pilot?

I rode up from Texas for that one.  I used to live around there (Derby and Douglass) and my boys went to school in Augusta.

W , I rode several in 08 .do you remember what church it started at? What cemetery? We did one that year that started in Newton and went out east of Eldorado.WE had over 1 mile of bikes 2 abreast.

What a site to look in your rearview mirror and see bikes as far as you can see.!!

It started in a parking lot in "downtown" Augusta, south of 54.  The service was at a big church on Ohio St, up past the high school.

That was my first PGR mission, and the only one that the Phelps showed up at before last Saturday.

Appears there will be new missions for the Patriot Guard. The westboro church protesters came to Oklahoma and were met by numerous groups one of which is the Patriot Guard someone (as of yet has not been indentified I do not believe a Patriot Guard member would do this) slashed the tires on their vehicle no tire shop in town would repair or sell them tires they had to call AAA and get their vehicle moved three towns away from the funeral before a Wal-Mart would agree to get the vehicle road worthy again as a result of this action the westboro group has now stated that Oklahoma children are being killed in various ways as punishment therefore they (westboro group) will not target and picket funerals of children. I am sure that the Patriot Guard will add these types of missions to its list of events as needed or requested. Standup guys and girls doing what is right and I am proud to be a member. Would welcome any and all  to come join us.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

My first mission is tomorrow, welcoming home troops at the Columbia, SC airport! What a great way to begin. I'll let you know how it goes. The wife and I are also helping serve Thanksgiving dinner to deploying troops in the afternoon at NG Armory. Should be a good day! ;D
