what does the update address??

New?  It's been out for over a year??  Sept 2009 to be exact.

It effected VOX sensitivity.

The radio/head unit update was not needed but the iPod module update was on my 2011.  I wonder what it addressed ?

When I put in the CD with the updates my screen gives me the message "Verifying DSP image" and goes not further to install the update. HELP>>>

Is there a change log for the software somewhere?  How do you know what problems are addressed by what version?

Assuming a good CD, it is either a CD drive not able to read the disc (update data much harder to read than audio or MP3) or the SDRAM circuit is defective.
Try re-buring the disc at the lowest speed available to your program and try again.
