Loud Pipes
« on: May 11, 2006, 10:00:51 AM »

On my 2005 Road King I have the SE slip on slash down Pipes P/N 64903-99. On this bike the pipes seemed perfect and not to loud. The other day I put on the SE slash up pipes P/N64924-99 on the 06 Electragluide and it just seems too loud. They look like the same pipes but one is slash up and the other is slash down.

Is it just me in my mind or can the slash up with the fearing and box on make it seem louder?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The only thing I can think of is that the exhaust note on the up slashes is projecting up instead of out and down at the road like the other mufflers..I don't think HD has optional"performance"baffles like Rinehart. Just my guess.

I knew I should of went with the slash down. I just didn't want both bikes looking the same. Noise doesn't seem to bother my wife to much. I will swap them tonight and if the rain quits I will let you all know how it is.
