Saw these pictures on a thread here not to long ago..     Looks like boys haven fun.. Nothing different from today, we just have specialized motorcycles now..  I will say they had a special talent man-handling their bikes through their adventure  :2vrolijk_21:

That is great stuff; thanks for posting it. I heard that riding these early “dirt bikes” in that manner would turn your spine into powder. On the plus side, I believe that powdered vertebrae has some sort of medicinal value; maybe its ceremonial value…well something like that.

As I remember it, the early Firestone and Goodyear tires on the Big Twins ran something like 16 psi.

This photo from the link above is interesting in that the machine pictured has shiny paint and chrome, the exhaust is clean and shiny and the engine isn’t greasy. I’ll bet that this machine is nearly new.

And how about the age of the riders in all of those photos!

In that era it was common for the hill climbers and dirt bikers to fabricate fenders out of the spare tire cover rings from the early autos. It looks like that may have been the case in this photo.
