Engine rattle gone?
« on: July 14, 2012, 01:18:52 PM »

Good day just pasted 1500 miles on my new bike and have noticed that i do not have the loud rattle in the motor that my previous 2007 and 2010 110's had. has Harley finally fixed this issue or have i gotten Lucky?  Not seeing very many posts about this lately and was curious if its gone away or everyone is just expecting it.
Thanks
Mike

My brand new 2012 SESG does not ping or rattle on 93 octane. I hope it stays that way.  I have noticed alot of heat off this engine on the right side...more than any Harley I've ever owned.

If there is no rattling from your engine then I suspect that the factory has forgot to install a couple of parts.  ::)

No rattle?  Something is wrong.  Better take it to the stealer immediately.  Would like to hear them say "They all do that."

Yep, I even noticed it on my Buddy's 96" RG. You can help take away some of that heat by getting rid of the Catalytic Converter. I and many have gone with Fullsac header and baffles with a tune. It helped on mine but still hotter than my 103 engine in my SEEG.
