SE 10.5:1 pistons deck height
« on: December 02, 2012, 11:25:32 AM »

I'm looking at getting the Screamin' Eagle 10.5:1 pistons for the CVO 110 (22502-07).  I need to get my compression up a little more than 10.5:1 for my cam choices that I'm looking at (somewhere around 10.75-11:1), so I need to know how far below the deck surface the pistons are in the hole (or above if that's the case) so I can calculate how much the heads need milled.  I've found out that the dome on the piston is somewhere in the neighborhood of 11-11.4 cc's, so the installed height is the last piece of the puzzle.  Does anyone know?

The last set i did was .008" down. You should always dry fit and measure them if you want an accurate reading. There is only one thing consistent on Harley's and that is they are inconsistent!

You need to check that on the cases, as several "stack up" can affect that.

While we are talking about these pistons, does anyone know what changed between the old part number, 22502-07, and the new number, 22502-07A?
