Don't be too worried, especially after the fact, about any "coulda, woulda, shoulda's."  You didn't have a compression tool so you couldn't use one.  No big deal.  You had a 15 degree Minnesota Saturday and that's got to be as good a tool as any to get some work done on the bike (unless you didn't have a heated work area, then you're just freaking nuts!).

NO CONCERN !!  ???  Someone else may benefit from the knowledge .

Not sure what you're biting at John.  My comment was that there's no reason for the man to pay to particular heed to redundant critique/advice to run compression checks when it was impossible for him to do so (no tool).  The important thing was he got it sorted and could claim some success.  That's worth feeling good about.

Not every guy at home has every tool.  Perhaps not even all the tools common to many of us.  Fortunately he had enough to find a way to get it done.  Since it's his case we were talking about that was, in this case, success and worth an at-a-boy for finding and fixing a problem.

It was a suggestion on how to proceed to figure out his problem. I don't have a crystal ball to know if he has an adaptable compression gauge or not.  :nixweiss:

None of us do (have a magical crystal ball).  I wouldn't know it either (except I'd read it earlier in the thread).

Thank you for the at-a-boy buddy!!! I have access to almost any tool including a compression gauge... Just had the wrong adaptor. I could have waited to get right adapter... Or.... Dig in there and find the problem. No harm no foul in this case. My ADHD prevented me from letting it go a day or two.  Lol

Oh my I know that feeling.  There is little more nagging than something just done that isn't right and you know can be sorted.  Lots of late nights given away to that little bugger riding on my shoulder :huepfenlol2: .

I'll give you an atta Boy Bro.
Lets start with the fact that your doing your own wrenching. Ya you made a mistake, we all do. But with out pointing fingers and asking for legal advice, you went back in,
found the problem, fixed it in a freezing ass garage and then admitted to it on a public forum. And you use spell check.

Awesome job!  :2vrolijk_21:
