What you want to look at is the other side of the spokes for overall wear. Front view shows nothing.

Took my 2011 cvo road glide in for a new back tire and told the service mgr. the primary sounds a little noisier that usual and it has some low speed steering wobble...He said I'll check it out...Called me the next day and said noise was compensator, new one on the way...12500 miles on the clock...guess I'll be using my ESP.

I've been trying to order a 2014 compensator for a friends bike for about a month now.

First they were on backorder until April 11.  Today I received an email notification that they are now on backorder until April 20.  Makes me nervous there is either a deficiency in the current design and another design change is underway, or there is a manufacturing problem.

Of course, it could just be the MOCO's inability to schedule  -  and maintain a schedule.   :nixweiss:  Either way, I suspect they have many customers left hanging just as riding season is upon (many of) us...

New 2014 SE Compensator finally arrived today.  Just over 6 weeks from order placement.

I have no problems with the old EVO compensator (never been changed/no sighns of wear yet, just replace stator tonight)  even with a S&S V111 118HP/123TQ with a Primo Revera 6 speed O.D. gearset Barnett Scorpian Clutch and over 60,000 miles

Just was in for an oil change, 18000 miles on my 2010 CVO Ultra and was told my primary is loud and I should look into a new compensator.  They didn't want to quote me until they knew for sure.. what should I be expecting them to hit me at next week?  Is the SE they way to go on these?

Unfortunately the SE compensator is the only choice available, since no one else makes one for the late model bikes.  The price of the kit is $299.95, labor charges and fluids are extra of course.

Buy it from Surdyke.com wholesale and install it yourself. Just not that hard.

It doesn't look that hard to me.. I think I will order it and try it myself.. I'm sure the dealer is 4 hours of labor!

You'll have to order the adhesive separately.  The MOCO won't sell it to you...

Or you can clamp the tray in place and drill a 1/4" hole through the tray and primary. Flat washer and seal the inside and use a chrome acorn nut and washer on the outside and be assured it is not going anywhere. Acorn nut hardly noticeable as it hides behind the heel shiftier.

Sounds to me like I'll be doing the same.. During today's ride the primary developed a slight "clunk" when releasing the clutch -- or I should say that I noticed it today for the first time.
