Ok - I won't overly concern myself with the sound ... but a question/clarification ... When you say "all is well now", did you service the vales/rockers in some fashion that "removed" the sewing machine sound? Or was it the inner bearing change that corrected the issue?

Forgive me - I'm mechanically inclined, just not versed in engine mechanics, etc - so I may not be fully understanding what you are saying. :-)

My problems were with the crank and not the valves. All is well now because I got a new stronger crankshaft.
