Don't forget the valve spring retainer to lower rocker box clearance problems on the 2007's as well.  Mine had pounded smiley faces into the lower rocker boxes.  Just imagine how much the valve guides loved that side loading!  Some even worked loose and fell out or in on top of the valves.  Yikes!

Yup.  Happened to my cuse2 (valve guide slipped preventing valve from closing) on its first anniversary with 22k on the clock. New motor from moco lasted 46k before it self destructed due to lifter and inner cam beating failure. Bullet proof these beasts are not.

Yea.. this looks like the gasket issue.  My bike has had the "upgrade".  I just dont understand why the other very consistant issues werent addressed...Oh well..
Glen

It wasn't just a gasket issue.   The cylinder heads were replaced, as well as the gaskets, in a program called a "product enhancement".  See the link...

Not to create any more alarm, but the 2007 model year 4 3/8" cranks seemed to be the most problematic of any of the 4 3/8" cranks.
Shy of those, the 4" 2004 year cranks were the absolute worst, or at least from what we've witnessed. :o

Looks like some challenges for the 2007 and 2008 110s engines.  The noise heard did not start until after an oil change and with an engine having only has 8K miles. Although not a mechanic by trade I do my own work and have worked on almost every engine and vehicle combination (trust my work more) from bikes to cars to boats.  My first rule is if something new happens I ask myself what did I last do and make sure I didn't cause any issues.  It seems like this all started with the oil change so I would go back and put her back as she was and see if there is still a noise or not. Just saying what I would do.  I love my CVO and boy was it great this morning when I had to move around some cars quickly! Just love that power and bike.

Good advice with sound logic...

If the bike has, in fact, had all the "product enhancement" work completed, and the noise remains after undoing any recent work (and is a new noise), the first thing I would suspect is lifters.  However, some logical troubleshooting may be required to pinpoint the issue, before throwing parts at it.

Bought an old Mercedes years ago and noticed the kingpins had not been greased in ages. My dad said "don't grease them" but I didn't listen.
