How to take the plastic surround off around the forks lock?
WildmanUltra:
Howdy all,
I searched and found people asking how to do this but never found out HOW.
I don't want to break the plastic so I figured it was better to ask. I've got about 5 hours of riding time on the bike so far and know that I want to try rolling the bars forward before I replace them.
Is there any pictures of where I need to pry the tab loose? Or a video?
Thanks.
fastfreddy:
at the center back is a lill tab , with a pick or small screw driver , pull up on cover and push tool in, carefully , the tab can break easily, then lift and pull cover back … if you google road glide handle bar pin :2vrolijk_21:
OBB:
Take the two screws out of the gauge cover. Turn the forks the whole way to one side. Then do as Freddy said. It gives you a whole lot more room to work with it and it isn't tight. I've ruined one of those covers before doing it without taking the cluster apart.

Mine has a chrome cover over the switches and is blocking the little groove. Im almost breaking the chrome cover trying to get it off. Suggestions? Oh and I just bought the bike used a few weeks ago.

Congrats on the new bike. I have only had mine since Thursday 13 June 19. So far I love the new bike compared to my 2011 RGU.
