Title: Phone call problems
Post by: ultrafxr on July 07, 2019, 05:50:15 PM
I don't make phone calls from the bike very often but when I do I have extreme static.  If I call from just my iPhone not through the bike the call is fine.  But when I call through the bikes BoomBox I get so much static I can hardly hear and understand the other party.

I've tried un-pairing and re-pairing my iPhone 6 to the bike but it made no difference.

Just wondering if anyone else has or has had this problem and might have suggestions or hopefully a way to resolve it.

It is on m 2018 Tri-Glide - not a CVO of course but don't think that should matter.

TIA

We were in Bryce Canyon  last week and recieved a call from the animal shelter about 1 of our dogs. We were doing 45 mph with side winds and let it go to voice mail and played it back at the first stop thru the boom audio system and was crystal clear.
Than a few days later after leaving Arches National Park our daughter called to see what's up. At 70 mph with wind noise we told her to hang on so we could slow down, we use half helmets, but once below 30 mph or at stops the reception is clean.
Using iPhone 10.
Full helmet's would make it better but not what we have.
Ours is a 2015 but you would think newer must be better.
I had a call I answered while riding, came to a stop and while talking I turned the bike off. The call automatically changed over from head set to speakers but the microphone was still active.
Don't have any idea what is causing you're system to have static but wanted to let you have some feedback on how ours works.

Thanks Joel.  Unfortunately I have the static even when parked with the engine not running.
