"1800 Pro-upgrade kit" 259E cams , 10.5:1 high comp pistons , Supertuner pro Orange tuning dongle

I had that in my 2013 CVO Breakout ( sold 6 months ago !). That had been installed from new in Bunbury and I bought that bike at 7 months old

That bike was "faster" than my Springer once moving , say from 80 to 110+ Km/H

Springer would SPANK the Breakout off the lights and all the way to 70 or 80 Km/H. EASILY !

Which is most important to you in the real world you have to ask yourself ? Personally I prefer the low down grunt of the stock CVO 255 cams.

I do my own laptop tuning , older "original black SERT on my Springer , CVO Breakout had Supertuner Pro of course.

Hi Imoo,

This is the recipe I will be using for these bikes. I have all of the parts, the work will be done in July.

Having the cylinders bored out to 4.060 (113ci)
- KB 113ci pistons
- heads by HDSP (USA- head porter)- heads ported, 2.120 intake valve fitted, new beehive springs
   fitted.
- HPI 58mm TB
- 4.9 SE injectors
- 0.030 Head gasket
- SE adjustable pushrods
- S & S premium lifters
- S & S Cam plate and oil pump
- CR575 cams (torque cam)
- new inner cam bearings
- SE compensator
- Hayden primary chain tensioner
- Aim VP 82 clutch
- and last of all, looking at having an S&S crankshaft installed at the same time

This work will be conducted in either Brisbane or Sydney.

The most important part of the build is having the bike dyno tuned by a competent tuner, and run in at the same time on the dyno, this is where the real magic starts in this performance build.

If you want a cheap build, install some premium lifters and new inner cam bearings and get a dyno tune, leave your SE255 cans in there.

Geoff

Thank u - good luck with the build

Geoff,  You allready have the SE Compensator in your FXSTSSE3, so dont waste your $ on another.

If you really think you will be making that much horse power to warrant a crank change, at least think of using the Dark Horse unit, best on the market, for sure.

Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info.

My understanding is the 2007 and 2008 Springers have the standard compensators, not the SE version.

Is the dark horse unit a welded and balanced factory HD crankshaft?

Hi Dave,

Who did the engine work on your bike, and where did you get it tuned?
I assume you had it dynotuned?

Hey Geoff,

The heads were done by Don Dorfman (ex Deweys Heads) , pretty sure you will find him on this forum, i believe he is now at http://www.hdstreetperformance.com/
Certainly knows his stuff, and really helped me out in getting the result i was after.

The install was done by a local ex Harley tech nearby at Gateshead, "Threedom Wheels". Hilton is the man.

Tune was done by Sports Cycles at Gateshead.

I have tried the Andrews 54H in my FXSTSSE2, it was a ripper, no head work, just a tune. Very impressive.

Though looking for an upgrade on my return from the USA this year, Adding a HPI-55D6-76 Throttle Body and Tman TR590 cam.

Hi Dave,

I had my heads done by Don as well. He's a champion!
That HPI 55 TB and TR590 cam will work well in your bike.
I expect my build will produce 120HP and 125lbs of Torque.
