Title: 2012 cvo roadglide spark plug question / problem
Post by: +RO@D*R@GE+ on May 24, 2016, 04:28:14 AM
so changed all my fluid and spark plugs yesterday and when I started my bike..... my tach was jumping all around. has anyone had this problem? could it be just a bad plug right out of the box or maybe the gap is wrong? never had a problem before.

The plugs would be easiest to trouble shoot. Start there and then see if yo damage the plug wires next.

Make certain the plug wire terminals are actually completely snapped onto the plugs.  It's easy to get a "false positive" when installing plug wires with tight rubber boots.  Also check to see that the plug terminal nuts screwed onto the top of the plugs are in fact screwed on tight.

Oh, and btw, never assume the plugs are gapped correctly right out of the box.  Always check them.

Read on the RG forum last night that a guy had a plug wire come loose off the coil block. Check that also.
