Title: Tequila Sunrise Pics
Post by: hd-dude on September 19, 2009, 01:02:48 AM
Was at the local dealer tonight and they had just got in a Tequila Sunrise. Pics are from the phone so they do not do the color justice. Its more orange than red and tons of flake in the paint. Looks really good!

Yup, I agree on that............ My Dealer has his very first SESG arriving the end of this month - so happens to be a Tequila Sunrise.  Can't wait to see it in person..... :drink:

Not many upgrades, just Rinehart slip ons, and race tuner. Changed engine guard and added spot lights. Will add pics later. :)

Met with JC and Terrie today at Dron's and they rolled the bike into the sun for her. You should have seen the smile on her face when she saw it. She was in LOVE!

Here's another phone pic of outside......

No, Not pink at all, more red/orange in the sun.  These were taken from my phone so they are not the best quality.

Saw it today too, they wanted 5K over invoice. They don't alow dogs in the store so we don't shop there anyway. For those who saw Melanie's helmet at Hood, it sparkles like that, except in orange.  :o

Yes, she really liked it.  But she's has an 09 SG to sell first, if she wants this one. :nixweiss:  And it certainly will not be a Droan's......they want 5k over MSRP. :nervous:  By the way, if anybody knows of a dealership in Cali that sells at MSRP and has one coming in that's not spoken for......let us know?

The Tequila is a sparkly bike in the sun compared to both the Rum and the Concord blue.  Quite possibly the most metallic paint job the MoCo has came out with.  It's full of gold flake.

I'm taking delivery on one in early December via Cowboy HD in Austin TX.  These guys there are great and always have been.  Quick story.  I am in the Army deployed to Iraq.  I have done business with them since 2005 and (when not deployed) live in San Antonio TX. but still do much of my business at Cowboy.  They gave me a great price on a Tequila Sunrise FLHXSE but when I was able to secure one through Military Sales for 9% below MSRP I cnx my order through Cowboy.  In doing so I had hoped that they would not just blow me off and they didn't.  The head sales manager quickly refunded my deposit and offered to take delivery of the bike there even though they do not routinely work with Military Sales.  The service dept manager, Dom, always asks about my wife and family and make me feel welcomed.  They continued to treat me as a valued customer and for that reason I will continue to have any major work and purchases through them.  By the way, military, active or retired, get 10% parts and clothes there.

Sorry-didn't mean to get on a soap box but too many times we hear the negatives so I wanted to relay a positive.

#2) Cowboy HD in Austin TX seems like a great place. This is the kind of place all Harley Dealers should be like!
#3) Get back here safe and enjoy that new Harley!

Well, I'll call B.S. on that!  Despite having bought an '08 FLHX w/103, etc. Cowboy wants $5K over MSRP and Freight and Setup.

Cowboy has been good to deal with on service, etc. but don't get me started on the MSRP, plus B.S.

I'm going to Horny Toad HD in Temple for my '10 CVO SE SG  :pepper:

Thanks to you for your service, but I'm offended by MSRP, plus tactics.  Being screwed on price is not a good thing.

Sorry, traper but I appreciate a dealer who does not allow dogs inside. Fletchers in Clearwater allows them and I hate to go in there when they have a big event.
We all have opinions. I have dog and wife has cat, but they don't go in places where people who may not like pets are.

They didn't give me a "great price" but after presenting them with the quote from another dealership they matched it to the tune of $1250.00 off their orginal asking price.  These are premium scoots and I don't blame the dealers its is up to us to shop around and get the best price.  Sounds like you and I are doing just that.  Good luck with your purchase, what color are you looking for?  Where are you located?  I use to live North Austin now in SATX.  Ride safe!

Hope you get that scoot soon!  If you're like me yesterday isn't soon enough.  By the way, I saw AC/DC in SATX during this tour and they still are great.  Two hours of pure high energy music.  Hey, my brother is a Vegas metro police officer, if you get pulled over by a Kowalski tell him you're a Chicago Bears fans and all will be good!  ;)

So JC your going to have a pair of SESG's.  One for you and one for the missus.  Well I don't think this could have worked out better for me to be honest.  I still have time to make up my mind about which color to get, because I am still torn between the Concord and the Tequila.  Knowing you, you'll have Terrie's scoot all done up before I have to decide and I'll have the chance to figure out not only which color, but what to do with mine. :2vrolijk_21:  I hope you sell your other bikes too cuz otherwise you won't have the Green to do much. :nixweiss:

Looks great Snowrdr!  Looking and drooling over the pics of your bike...................I'm like a fat kid in a candy store!  My wife rides an '07 Road King and in April her, the King, me and my Tequila are riding from West San Antonio TX to Vegas to visit my cop brother and throw a beer or ten back.  Vegas is fun but after a year away from my wife, riding, and family, I'm looking forward to the saddle time in the new scoot and making lasting memories.  Once I get my bike I'll post some more pics and let folks know how it handles on the open highway.  Ah, isn't life grand! As AC/DC once said "have a drink on me" but ride safe!  :drink:

Wow!  I was trying not to look at these photos because I've been enjoying my sleep at night.  I was hoping that when I saw it in person it would be too orange.  I'm afraid I'm in trouble.  The Tequila Sunrise won't be at Mountain Creek until October 9th.  I told them if it arrived on my birthday on the 7th that I'd take it as an omen that it was meant to be.  I really wanted to wait to get one...and I really wish I had looked at these photos!  I had almost convinced myself that I didn't need another bike... :-*

It's available; and, I'm not affiliated with the dealership.

I don't know Dawg.  The 05 bannana is a bright colored bike and definately a good looking bike as well (it's a SEEG......the best looking CVO they've came out with to date!) but this Tequilla Sunrise definately has more bling in the paint.  It's a very good looking bike.....all three of the SESG as well as the Burnt Amber and Citrus SEUC are very nice bikes paint job wise! :2vrolijk_21:  Still doesn't have the pop that the SEEGs had but they'd be hard pressed to top the SEEG paint job. :nixweiss:

It appears in the photos the flames don't stand out very well in the sunlight, is that so?
Title: Re: Tequila Sunrise Pics
Post by: h8rain on October 03, 2009, 11:39:34 PM
No, the pinstripe flames are very visible as they are darker than the paint, but the contrast is reversed over the spiced rum lighter color pinstripe over dark which seems to photograph better.  The paint doesn't reproduce on the compressed pics like it is in real life the color is really just like the name a distinctly red tone over the orange with metal flake that goes from yellow to a green tone in the sunlight.  Its not like a stock paint for sure.

Hoping that I can pick mine up tomorrow, even though service is closed.  Its been raining in Central Texas which is a good thing to bust the 2 year drought, but refuse to make my first new bike ride in the rain.

Looks to me like the Tequila Sunrise has a pink or light purple hue to each one of these pictures. Does anybody else see the pink reflection in the paint. Would be a great bike for my wifey, she likes this color with this reflection a lot. :nixweiss:

I see it in some of the photos but didn't see that on any of the three that I've saw in person.  It's definatly a reddish/orange with lots of flake in it.  More flake than the brown or blue SESG.

Will post some pics shortly, only they are from my iPhone.
Richmond HD in Glen Allen, VA just got a Tequila Sunrise out on the floor yesterday. $1K over MSRP  >:( . Had 9 miles on it when I arrived, I got to demo ride it so it's now got about 17 more... sweeeet!
The flake definitely comes out in the sun on the TS!! Had this side by side with '09 SERG and what a difference.
The bike is available according to sales.

Thanks for your comment....how was the power.....
I'm coming off of a 96in FLSTN with V&H Big Radius and no other mods... so my perception may be askew, but I found the power to be great for a completely stock bike. Some hesitation at the gate and once the sales guy on the SERG boinked it at a stop - but this should be remedied by gutting the cat... outside of that it seemed to have great pull through the band. It's put a phone call on my todo list today to my dealer to ask, "Where's mine?"
I would look forward to something like the Fullsac Stage II... get more of a Harley rumble and put guts into the gate.

Myko,
Where are you getting your Rum at? I know Richmond is getting another Rum (I got their first one) in November I think.  I thought it had a deposit on it, but I could be wrong.  Surprised the TS is still there...the Sales Manager mentioned to me that it was spoken for...must have fallen through.   :nixweiss:

Aaron, the sales guy who took me out on the demo, said they had just put the TS out on the floor this past Saturday. I specifically asked if the bike had been spoken for and he said no... that's when he offered up the demo ride.

My SR will be shipping on 11/13 to Winchester  :orange:

I'm down at Richmond HD right now getting my outter fairing replaced (it had a small nick right up on the left upper corner between the windshield and the windshield trim that the dealer noticed prior to delivery and ordered a new fairing right away.  Took 8 weeks to get here. :(  ), and I looked at the TQ SESG that they have sitting on the floor.  Sorry guys (and gals), it doesn't do anything for me.  Even had them take it outside to look at it in the sun.  Nearly blinded me!!!!  And it does, if you look at it just right, give off a pinkish hue.  After seeing all three SESGs now and all three SEUCs, IMO the best colors of this model year is the Spiced Rum for the SESG and the Burnt Orange/Amber for the SEUC...hands down...but that's just my opinion.  I'm a little biased on the SESG colors.   ::) :P :P

The additional flake in the Tequila will warm the surrounding air molecules and therefore reduce wind resistance making it the fastest color. Science fact :-)

Beware of the spun oil temp guage. It does not match the 09+ SE spun guages as the backlighting is way different.

The SESG gauges are back lit in LED.....the oil temp gauge in the catalog is an incandescent bulb.  While they look the same in the day time, at night they look totally different.  I should have taken pics of both my 10 SESG and my 04 SEEG side by side at night (before I went with Dakota Digital on my SESG).

There's a thread on these oil temp gauges and color differences here......  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=42426.0
