Now the wait begins....
-
Nice looking bike. I love the paint job.
-
Nice job! I really like the Skunk!
-
Just placed an order for a Skunk as well
-
im on also
what time frame are your dealers telling you for the skunk?
-
I'm thinking very hard about the sunk or the blue.
Wanted to wait until 13 for a new one but, I figure they seem to only do the RG's for one year, and I do not want one in an Ultra.
No one at my dealer can say when they are getting what colors yet, nor how many. Owner and Head sales guy get back Saturday from the official release of the bikes.
-
Wow...nice...my favorite...congrats!

Saw a "Skunk" today at Irvine HD in CA. It was there for the HD demo rides. Beautiful bike!
-
I like the code name "Skunk". Someone the other day called it the "Great White".
Makes sense either way, Congrats on the new scoot.

"Jaws" may be a good fit.
Can't see myself calling my bike the "Skunk"......just saying.
-
Great choice! Probly my favorite of all the 12's. Looking forward to seeing one in person.

Hi Dave,
Wonder who will get theirs first. They are supposed to ship 8/11/2011.

Heard you have the skunk coming to SMHD, or at least at the time I put down a deposit on the one they have coming to Wildcat. I'm pretty sure I want the skunk, but Shane is give me the chance to move the deposit to another color if white is not what I think it will be.
Shane thinks the maple was the classiest, and said I should go that way. Wife thinks I should go blue, my favorite color. Something tells me the skunk will have a special pop. I am glad I get the chance to decide after I see it though. Not a fan of the sculls but its road glide.
You will get yours first. I fly off shore for three weeks Thursday, come home Aug 19th, only to fly to Norway or a week the 20th. Soonest I could take delivery would be Aug 26th.
I like the fact the Chopped or King tour packs have matching graphics.
I do not like you can not up grade the sound system to what the CVO street glide has.
All in all I need to get a new SERG as you never know when they will have another CVO RG.

Sounds like they're keeping you hopping at work. Sure glad I don't have to travel for work.
I liked the candy cobalt as well but since my Deuce is candy cobalt I wanted a different color. The skunk is going to be the one for me.
Going to order the x-pipe and tuner but haven't decided on mufflers yet. Did you do the Fullsac baffles on your 09 or did you go with an after-market muffler? If you did the baffles what size and how do you like the sound.
-
Ran the stock head pipe that had the pipe cut 100% of the cat removed with the fullsac 2.25 baffles. I really liked them, but in March of this year I put Vance and Hines Hi-Output rounds on it. I really like them, very deep. When I trade the bike the stock mufflers with the fullsac baffles will go on it.
I will go x pipe on the new one. Not sure if I will do the 2.25 Fullsac baffles or run the Hi-outputs. There are pros to both, the fullsac are a little more mellow in the interstate. Both will bark when you get on it. Hi output are deeper and louder.
TTS Mater tune what your ordering for the tuner? That is what is on my 09 and I am pretty sure I will get one for the 12.

Thanks for the info on the baffles. If you like the deeper sound at idle I probably wouldn't like the baffles either. I had the Hi-output on my 11 but found them too loud so I sold them to David G.
My 11 has the x-pipe, rinehart 4" mufflers and TTS tuner. Works great so I'll probably stay with the same combination.

Joe, I fined the Fullsac 2.25 very similar to the rinehart 3.5. Maybe just a bit mellower on the fullsac. I may go back to the fullsac on the 2012, not sure. The hi output vance and hinse are deeper and louder through out the rpm range. I will run a chopped tour pack in solo position again.
Greg thanks for the pics. Looks like the bars will give a good riding position.

I decided to go with the rineharts. Think I will run mine as a solo as well. Remove the passenger pegs and use them for my highway pegs. No tour pack for me. If I need a tour pack I'll just ride the SERGU. It's only several weeks away but the days seem to be moving slower.

So your keeping the SERGU. You keeping the Deuce also?
Sure makes sense not getting the tour pack having an ultra version to ride if you need to carry stuff. This is going to seem like a much longer time at work than normal for me.

Trading the Deuce. The new bike will be my bar hopper.

So you'll have the RG Ultra for long rides and the RG Skunk for bar hopping?! The bar hopper's supposed to be the lightweight bike! What did you shave, like 25 lbs? :2vrolijk_21: Love it.

Actually 100 lbs and then I won't be hauling along all the extra crap I normally carry in the tour pack. Your right though not as light as the Deuce. :)
-
Wow, I'm a little surprised that is the way you are doing it Joe.
However I do like your way of thinking on it, makes good sense to me. I almost have to force my self to ride my other bike, I just like riding the road glide better.

That's kind of the way it was with the Deuce so I figured if I'm going to have 2 bikes might as well get one that I'll enjoy riding more often.

Congratulations to everyone getting new CVO Road Glide Customs. I think they all look great and the Skunk/Great White holds a special appeal. You might even get used to the skulls on your bikes ;) :o 8)

I'm not a fan of skulls, and like the eagle much better on my 09. However the skulls are not that bad, and my actually grow on me, and if not they can be removed.
I can not wait to see the Skunk / Great White in person. I hope it pops as much as I think it will.
-
saw the enblems they look good as a matter of fact everyone around the bike said they look bad ass..

I know it will not make a difference for my current situation but I sent the following suggestion to Harley Davidson via their H-DIdeaSubmissionsSuggestion@harley-davidson.com email address.
Would be great to provide tracking/delivery details of purchased bike. If FedEx can track an envelop, there should be a way to track the location of a bike en route.
I just bought a 2012 Road Glide Custom CVO in Candy Cobalt/Twilight Blue with Real Smoke Graphics. VIN <#>. Dealer cannot tell me where exactly is the bike nor a date when it will arrived. I bought it based on their comment that the bike would be here last Monday (August 29, 2011). Not so.
Anyway, the suggestion is to do just that, be able to track a bike based on where it is in its production cycle. Say you have someone that orders one to specs, with custom paint and all... HD should be able to have the ability to show the customer (via your website) where in the production cycle the bike is and provide updates along the way until final delivery. Maybe something you do just for Custom work and CVOs or across all bikes where customers request it. The technology is there for product of less value (Dell Computers for example does this), so HD should be able to do it as well.
Got a quick reply for the Ideas/Suggestions team asking me to call Customer Services as they might be able to help, and also letting me know that the suggestion would be routed to the management team for evaluation.
Called Customer Services and John will try to reach out to the truck company to determine where the bike is. It shows it was shipped on August 25 to Orlando, FL...
Maybe too much time on my hands, maybe the excitement, maybe I want it to get here before my birthday (a few days away), maybe doing what my customers do to me :D, I don't know... but it keeps my mind busy...
