Have you checked them to see what is in them now? A lot of the times they come from the factory w/little to no air in them. If this is the case on yours, and you do mostly solo riding I would start around 20lbs. I'm just a little shy of half your weight (270) and run mines around 40lbs.

Bill,

My suggestion is to check your owner's manual, and double what H-D recommends for your weight.  My SEEG has the Profile lowered shocks like the SERK, and the manual called for 0-10 psi for my weight.  Bottomed out on a regular basis.  I am now running 20 psi and there is a world of improvement in ride and handling.

Thanks I would have thought that Harley would a least put in 10 # but maybe they are cutting costs ;D i put in 20 an will see. When I rented a bike in AZ the ride was so much better but I did not know the pressure. I hope this was the problem

I run #25 in mine and I ride 2 up about 50% with a combined rider/passenger weight of #300.

Also, remember to check the pressure frequently because the shocks leak.

I haven't personally had an issue with the shocks leaking down, but some have so this is a good suggestion.  Get into a routine of checking your tires and shocks at least weekly.  I do it every Saturday, just before taking Momma out to dinner, since I have to jack the shocks up a little anyway.

I weigh 205, and my wife weighs 115.  I run 25# in my shocks, and we do fine.  It has been tough getting used to the front shocks though.........they're rough compared to the old Ultra.

Yeah, I glanced over it, and I'll dig into it more when I get home.  Looking at the first post, I do know that one tube is supposed to have more oil in it than the other.  Can't remember which one or how much without the TM in front of me.  At any rate, I'll have Robby at Rider's HD take my stuff down and look into it when my new skins arrive.  It is already on the "to do" list with them.

I bought the HD guage and found out that my old guage had about 30 # lowered to 15# now the ride is nice.

Both SeUltra and RK have been running between 15 to 20 2up or solo, however when riding through the frost heaves of Alaska I up pressure about 5 lbs for a total weight of 350 lbls. You are going to have to experiment what is best for you.
