Yes some of the paints a carried between different CVO's, not wild about that.

However this is the First time that They did more of a CVO paint job on the CVO Road Glide Ultra or limited.  While I liked my 2015, it really was not an obvious CVO paint job like these are.

I really like the Red and Black, the orange is nice too, Traditional colors.
I agree I’ve bought three cvo bikes and if the limited had the right color I probably would have bought one. Although I really liked the 2010 limited colors. I like the blacked out engine and exhaust on the red fade just unsure about the flames. These colors are defiantly loud again this year.

The Huge price jump from a Road Glide Limited, with basically the same size motor makes it hard to justify.  Then consider in the ST version of the street glide or road glide you do get the same size motor.

The motor should be bigger than the non CVO, it always was in the past.  Then 3K for paint?  Spent 5K to have my wife's road glide custom painted its a 1 of a Kind.

Just tell them to give you $35k for yours and it's a deal. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I told them $40 for my SERGU and $30 for my RK and we have a deal. I know that ain't gonna happen. I also told them if they're willing to put the 131 kit in it I'd give them the $51,800 they're asking. My other option is to buy the 22 and keep the 16 for now. I could swap parts from the old bike to the new one and then sell the 16 for less.

Its never a financial decision. You only live once!

It's not..... but it is. I've been looking at Quantico HD's custom bikes and when you get in the $70s a finished bike is appealing. On the other hand, I like working on my bikes so there's that. It's an internal struggle between the kid in me and the "adult" that I'm sure is in there somewhere.

A paint job on yours would be a lot cheaper

I thought it was sacrilegious to paint a CVO?  :nixweiss: When I try to justify this purchase it's all about the paint job at this point. I really like the orange paint job. It reminds me of Pete's RG and that's been my all time favorite paint job. Then I look at my 16 and it's a beautiful bike. Don't know if I could paint it.

Don't know what I'm gonna do but this is fun for me for now.

Finally another CVO RG Ultra - and well out of my league now. Even if I got a great trade in price it would still be more then my SEEG was new.

Some do say/think it's sacriegious to paint a CVO to avoid that you could buy some unpainted (custom) tins and have them painted. Install new tins and put your original tins in storage if you want to return it to that when ready to sell or sell original tins if buyer prefers the custom tins/paint.

I'm loving the orange RGU, but I just cannot justify the price. I thought 38k for my 2015 was stupid, but the dealer/owner is my neighbor and he got me drunk in his office and sent me out to ride it!  :huepfenlol2: Now I have spent 2k on suspension, 2k on stereo, 6k on engine work all in the last 2 years on the 2015. I would at least have to do suspension work on a new one. I could probably live with exhaust and tune. The stereo I would just have to hear to know if that is adequate. I do like the Road Glide ST, and I will probably buy one of those in a couple of years when I can pick up a low mileage used one for about 15-17k from some guy getting a divorce.

I’m looking at the Orange Road Glide Ultra. I wish I could see one before I put the deposit down!
I have had 4 Ultras, 3 of them CVOs. My wife is with me 99% of the time and she is worried about the wind on the Road Glide after taking to a couple with a Road Glide custom. Too much wind they said. I told her that there bike was a custom, not a Limited.
When it warms up next week we plan on going to the dealer and riding both an Ultra and a Road glide to see what she thinks.

It will probably need a taller windshield. I find the 14" Freedom perfect for the wife on the back with the stock seat on it.

Orange. I like chrome and wouldn’t buy a blacked out bike as in the Dante’s Red. Yellow would be cool but my better half doesn’t care for it.
As far as the windshield goes I’m sure a 14” shield would benefit my wife but I don’t like looking through a windshield. I’ve had 10” shields on all my Ultras. I can look over it and she doesn’t complain.
I was hoping for a 122 or 131 this year like everyone else. I asked the dealer how much a 122 kit installed would be. 6K! Forget it! My current 114 with the Harley torque cam  is the best running bike I’ve owned. A tuned 117 with slip ons would not maybe even have the same 120 ft pounds if torque I have now.

Keep in mind a 10" windshield on a Bat wing fairing is different than a 10" on a Roadglide.

What's the deal with the $1000 surcharge that is listed in the pricing section?

You pay base price plus paint (if you want yellow or orange) plus freight plus this $1000 surcharge?

Plus whatever surcharge the dealer adds on?
