MV Augusta, Harley's New Toy company

Got a spare 120k?  If so you get a bike that can go 195 out of the box and a "free" watch.  check out this link to the Times.

I believe HD bough MV Augusta to assemble Harley's in Europe down the road and avoid the steep tarrifs. Smart move.

Agusta is Ferrari for motorcycles. The stupidest desicion would be turning it to an assembly factory for touring bikes. It is like buying ferrari company and than using it to assemble cadillacs lol. :drink:

Altug, what are the dealerships like?  Are they a shop where the high end line could coexist with the more pedestrian Harley products?  The best rationale for the purchase seemed to me to be acquisition not of production (they're already below capacity here) but of the dealer network.  But have no idea what the existing dealership experience might work with.

Here in Turkey they are sold thru a distrubutor wich also sells Proton,Cagiva and Hasqvarna.I am not sure about elsewhere in Europe but i dont think there are many dealers like harley has its own.It certainly is a sought after bike here in Europe.Pricey tough.Harley with enough cash to inject into company may as well turn it into a profitable organisation and just sell them as MVs.Top management stays intact and they wont alter the bikes image.By the way i heard that MV owns the Harleys old factory in Italy that got sold during AMF so maybe they are buying back what was  theirs.   :drink:
