FHLXSE - No heat issue.
I had a 1997 ulta and loved it. Then I got a 1999 Ultra and so began the heat issue. I get a new bike every two years and have had sporty, softails, road glide. I live in Las Vegas and every bike since 1999 has had heat issues. I did the same thing every time: intake, mufflers, mapping, deflectors ... Note: I was not looking for faster performance, all I wanted was a bike I could sit on without my right leg bursting into flames.  Yesterday I took the new SESG for 100 mile break in run and today 250 miles in 100 degree heat. I found no heat problems. It took HD 10 years to make me happy again.

I got my SESG today and did about 100 miles. I did notice that my right leg got significantly hotter on this bike than on my 2006 SG. And it was mostly highway riding...

I have to agree with 2010.  With the rerouting of the pipes under the frame and looping the rear head pipe forward of the tranny, the heat issues have been significantly reduced.  I put on about 60 miles today in combined 50-60 mph traveling and some stop and start running and the heat didn't get as bad as my 07 SEUC with the true duals on it.  But I have to put a few more miles on it to really get a good feeling for that.

The rest to the story.. I bought a new 2008 Road Glide and took a three day trip to Colorado. That bike ran so hot that I stopped at McDonald's  and soaked my underwear in the sink. I just did want to start throwing money at the heat problem again. So, after two months I traded the Road Glide for a new 2008 Goldwing. The Goldwing was a great long distance hauler BUT, as they say, it's not a Harley. When I saw the beautiful Spiced Rum 2010 SESG, I said, I gotta have her and I don't care if my right leg goes up in flames. So far, (350 miles in 100+ degrees) the heat problem seems to have been solved. What are others finding?

It is true that I don't have another SE bike to compare to--so it might be better than previous versions, but it is way hotter than my 88" street glide.

I just purchased my 2010 SE SG and it is much hotter on the right leg than my 2008 Ultra....

If your finding a right leg heat issue on the 2010 SESG, what can you do to reduce heat. The bike already has SE intake and pipes. So what, mapping richer fuel, heat deflectors, circulator seat pad, any ideas...?

Pipes couldn't hurt--maybe getting rid of the cat should help.

the Cat is definitely going to be a creator of heat.   They get super hot and that heat has to go somewhere...the way we fixed it before was true duals and getting rid of that rear cylinder pipe on the right side.  My SEUC is definitely cooler because of that.  I also put the mid-frame heat shields on the SEUC too.  Jury's still out on the SESG if I'm going to do that.  Didn't do it on the 08 SG and that had pro pipes on it, but then again, the 96 doesn't run as hot as the 110 appears to ...

There are many opinions on the heat issue here.  Here is mine.  First, my cat is 100% gone, bike has a SERT and has been tuned.  I also have stock pipes with Fullsac 2.25 inserts.  I have also added a RSD air cleaner.  My right side is so hot that I have to put my foot up on the hiway pegs for some relief.  I also have lowers in with no vents.  anyway, like I said, many different opinions here and here is mine.  Ride safe

Do the Mid-Frame Air Deflectors do any good? Kuryakyn or HD?

I do have the HD mid frame relectors on mine.  It does help a little
