Thanks for the pictures.  The SESG2 King tour paks are sharp.

Question:  Why did you choose the FBI detachable tour pak rack instead of HD's?

Thanks, again, for the pictures.

Looks nice I can't wait to get my Inferno SG.
I think you can use the FBI rack with the stock two point backrest mount.

Thanks, I've got several things i want to powdercoat and a whole list of different goodies to add here and there.  Lookin back at these pics, the #1 priority is goin to be those stinkin reflectors!! totally forgot to take those off!

Question:  Why did you choose the FBI detachable tour pak rack instead of HD's?

Carl

I went with the FBI kit because when the TP or Backrest is off, all the docking hardware isnt obnoxiously sticking out. Nice clean look. wouldn't know it was even there if you didn't know what to look for.

only downside is that you cannot use harley luggage racks

U can use HD backrests but you have to have the FBI brackets to make it work

Thanks again for all the good comments

With TP mounted

Without

With HD backrest and FBI brackets

I didnt think to take any pics with the two pt hardware for comparison. But it completly does away with it or the four pt system.

Maybe when I get my bifocals back (like the ones you are using) I'll be able to see them better too. ::) :P :D :glasses: :glasses2: As they are now (just a little bit larger then thumbnail) they are not showing a lot of the detail and especially (IMO) how that paint is going to pop in the sun. :2vrolijk_21:

That is so awsome of a Scoot.  The FBI is well concealed as its origin and the bike flows so great.  Also great nubers for such light motor mods.           :bananarock: :huepfenjump3: :bananarock:

I concur, great looking bike...dig the mods. I hadn't seen the FBI mounts, but I like the clean look. One question though...Are you saying that anything that requires a four point dock won't work? I guess that jus limits you to no luggage rack as you said...HMMM...I can't think of anything else that would require you to need 4-pts...I might just have to switch out. Thanks

Black LED headlight came in and finally got a chance to put it in. I'm very pleased with the outcome. :cool26:

Also put on the fairing air deflectors. Man what a difference 2 small pieces of plastic make!  They may not look the best, but they sure do cut the wind turbulance way down.

Thanks again for all the good feedback!

Hey doc,

Sorry I never replied to ur post, must have missed it. But yeah its completely differentt from HD's setup and any four pt stuff wont work..  The FBI setup has brackets that bolt to ur pass backrest so u can still use it. And u have to get a new quick detach bracket that the TP mounts on. The way I look at it, if im goin to have the TP off im goin to be packin light anyway, so why would I need a luggage rack? But that's just me.

I have looked at the FBI brackets before but never seen them in person. I ,like you, hate how the HD 4 point brackets stick up and are not more hidden. HD could have done better. I was wondering if you think this will be as strong of a set-up as the 4 point hardware. The FBI brackets look like they would be under more stress being forward and the tour pack hanging off the back so far. My only concearn is with a fully loaded TP does it seem to you that the brackets and mounting points are strong enough to carry the load without breaking anything?

I thought the same thing when i was thinking about getting it.   I had it loaded pretty good and passenger leaning on it while in FL and it seemed to do just fine. After everything is all mounted up it feels pretty stout.  With that said, if i was going to leave the TP on all or most of the time i would probly go with the HD set up because it does look stouter.

How does the color of the HD heat shields and the color of the V&H mufflers look together? Black isn't always black you know.....

I wasn't aware of the FBI set up and got the HD 4 point setup but got the little magnetic covers for $25.00 a pair and they look good and cover up the docking hardware. I am not sure but think the 4 point will carry the weight better with a full TP but then again I don't know anything about the FBI system. Also how do you like the V&H slip ons? I am also thinking of going all black, with HD black heatshields. Is the color match good?

TT...did you go w/ the black or chrome 4 pt? When are you planning on swapping engines? Or was that just a ruse?

They don't match exactly but their somewhat close. Goin to do some powder coating to fix that as soon as time and funds allow.

Did you get the recore kit from Fullsac also for the V&H or just use the cores that came installed in the V&H?

HD Kid,

Can you post a couple pictures that are bigger of your tour pak mount setup? I am trying to decide if I want a chrome or black FBI mount. Or maybe email me some good picutres if you would? The original pictures you posted are to small to really get a feel. Beautiful bike by the way!!

Thanks,

Scott

Very nice. The more I see the KTP, makes me think I'll eventually go that route. Roughly $ 2700.00 here in the frozen wasteland. What head light is it?

Matt,

AWESOME JOB!!!!! Love it dude!!

I am confused on your exhaust though, in the early pictures you had the black exhaust on, in the later pictures it's back off?? Who did your painting? How much prep work did they do on the license plate frame do you know? Have had one guy say he can paint it and no issues, and another say he needs to rough it up, spray it with and epoxy coating and then paint it $$$$. How about your mounting of it? Did you line the edges with some trim or??? once again, AWESOME JOB!!!

Thanks, i'm having the exhaust powder coated gloss black and its not back yet.  Had a local guy do the paint, he did an AWESOME job matching the color.  I do know the LP bracket was sand blasted, but other than that i dont know what kind of prep went into it. He painted the screws too, but they ended up being to short to use. wish i would've drilled and done a test fit before i had it painted. I left 2 of the srews that held the stock bracket on to help keep the plate off the fender and cut some rubber spacers to go on each screw in between the plate and the fender. i used fairing trim around the bracket and after it was tightened down there isnt any gaps.  He just charged me $50 bucks for the LP bracket.

If anybody else is interested in a color matched inner or anything else for that matter, my guy does an outstanding  color match job! Mine was $250 cuz it was 2-tone( left the bottoms black to match the legs) but a single color is $150.00 + the price of the paint!! All he needed was one of my side covers to get a match from. he does great touch up work too. PM me and i can get you all his info.

Hello Kid
Your bike is looking great. I have a ? about the FBI tp mount. According to FBI the King tp is too heavy for the mount and vibrates quite a bit. Do you have any issues with this ? I ordered one any way but I'm just curious if the vibration is a problem.

I dont have any vibration nor does it feel like it ever would. Pretty solid mount in my opinion. Thats odd that they told you that, because i asked about that same thing when i ordered mine and they said no problem!

I got the ones that came on the 2010.5 blacked out ultra. All of the rubber parts come out of the rumble collection pegs and pedals except for the floorboards, they are riveted in place.  Didnt see the point in messin em up when i was able to donate em to my ol man. so i just ordered em already black.

They said they had a lot returns due to vibration using the king tp. I guess that may be why they only list the mount for the chopped or razer tp. I decided to take a chance and order it anyways. I'm glad to hear you don't have an issue with yours. Oh ya when is the $$$$ tree going to run out of funds for your mods, I can't keep up!! my tree is in hibernation.

painted inner fairing looks fantastic.  did you order it from MOCO?  also, how the hell do you change the color of the LCD display on the stereo?  i figure the guage mod is a pretty simple change of LED right?

i have a krypto as well and love it.  i'd definitely like to paint the inner fairing.  i have the black console and fuel guage & cap, changed from the original chrome

Thanks!  Negative on the MOCO.  Had my local painter do it. Much cheaper!! As for the radio and gauges, see the post before yours.

Your bike looks amazing! What is the brand of your green led gauges? I would like to do that to my green bike as well but can't find a company that offers green led's like the way you did your bike.  I found the company that does green led for radio (iron cross) but I can't find the company that does green for fuel, speedometer, voltage, and tachometer gauges as seen in your picture.  Let me know, thanks.

What type of license plate did you use? Or brand? I'm thinking of ordering that for my bike and painting it green just like you did. It looks clean and a lot better than the factory license plate.  Thanks!!!

I used the kuryakyn 9182 plate frame. I would suggest u find some longer bolts and drill and mount it up before u get it painted. That way u don't have to worry about scratchin the fresh paint and you could get the bolts painted to match.  I also cut the plug off the stock plate bracket and spliced it back onto the led light that came with the kit for a nice plug up connection. I made use of the soft rubber "gasket" that came with the kit too, I took a razor and cut the some rubber washers to between the actual license plate and the fender.

What a outstanding job, HD KID.  I'm esp. fond of the paint to match inner fairing and the black LED headlight.  Of course, all the mods add up to one sharp scooter.  spyder

A caution about the Yaffe plates, make sure the welds for the 2 nuts on the backing plate are secure.  I had one of the nuts break off with very little pressure, had both rewelded.  Others on this forum have had the same issue.  Emailed and called Yaffe with NO response!

What is the brand of your license plate you color matched kryptonite green? I don't want to modify back fender to change license plate and I think yo have done a great job with the license plate you chose.  Thanks.

Although the pinstriping looks good on the 12's, i'm just not a big pin striping fan. :-\  Soo, no, not for me. but to each their own.

Congrats to HDKid on some amazing mods!

Everything you've done to make it "your own" is incredible, but IMHO the painted inner fairing really sets this bike apart from the crowd!!!

Very well done.   :2vrolijk_21:

G'day HDKid,

I Like the painted inner fairing and dash lights, looks more like a custom.
Was there much work involved in changing out the backlighting in the guages and radio?

Not on my part, just boxed em up nice, n sent em to Iron Cross and Nu image. They did all the work.

And THANKS! again to everyone for the good feedback!

MAN OH MAN! I've never really gotten into the whole blacked-out look... maybe I'm just too old and too addicted to chrome... but I gotta tell you that's the meanest, baddest-looking SG I've EVER seen! You did an incredible job on it... all of the black components look KILLER against the Krypto! And I love the Krypto-painted inner fairing... WOW, that thing really POPS! I would love to see your bike in person sometime! It's just stunning!

Your mods look great, it's amazing the difference it makes  :cucumber:
Am fitting fullsac x pipe tomorrow with the V&H hi outputs, just wondering if you have any baffles in the mufflers & if so which ones ? Cheers, Paul.

Thanks, never changed, just Whatever baffles came in the mufflers.

Thanks, that hot citrus aint too shabby!

HD Kid, did the painter shoot the OEM mirrors, or did you use the HD mirror covers and have them painted?

Thanks, Man. The Krypto has really grown on me... The more I see it, the more I like it. I just don't want my wife to see your bike or she'll want a Krypto, too!
