Has any one with a Stock Speedo been able to get over 120 MPH?
I had the bike on a very long straightaway and could not get the speedo to go over 120 & had more throttle left & you could feel the bike speed up some maybe 125?
I guess the Stock Speedo will not go over 120?
Did this three times, each time it just stopped like it hit a wall.

I'm Not Suggesting that people ride at that speed, but was looking for some info about the new speedo, I can't find the info I'm looking for on Google about a stock speedo.
With that said I did find that my bike rode very well, Batwing and all, it was a very calm day with no wind in the green swamp here in Florida
with no traffic, no pot holes, wild life was the only concern, I use to race motorcycles & have had race bikes up to 165 miles per hr, so I'm kinda used to that speed on a Motorcycle.
The bike had more throttle & a little more RPM but no higher speed showed on the speedo.
For a stock 110 CVO Street Glide that has been tuned with slip ons, I was impressed at the 120 MPH.
Don't try this at home.

A short while ago there was a Harley (not mine  ??? ) that was at 115 mph according the the HD speedometer.  However, the GPS said 104 mph.  So how fast was the bike going? :nixweiss:

If I'm doing 80 mph according to the speedometer, the GPS says I'm doing 78mph and it gets progressively further off as the speed climbs from there.

We all know that none of the HD gauges are known for accuracy however, I can't help but wonder if in the case of the speedometer actually reflecting a greater speed than reality....if that is by design? :nixweiss:

Do the V-Rods have the same guage Mfg as the air cooled models ?

Your post probably explains why my Road Glide speedo says 80 and people are still passing me. Sorta like intentionally setting your clock 10 minutes fast.

Coming back from AZ Bike Week Bubba Love was on my 98 RG leading the way at an agreed 70 mph pace. My 00 RG and gps said 64 and he said he set his cruise at 70. I don't know if the bikes brain can be adjusted for this stuff or not.  Doc

Yea, what ever good that does.  Since when does somebody like you or me let the throttle go once you've reached 80......or got any more sleep by setting the clock 10 minutes fast. :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:

My '06 SEUC was off by about 2-3 mph, and the new SERGU is off by about the same amount...Speedo says 80, GPS says 77 + or - .5 mph.  I trust the GPS speed to be accurate, especially if I'm on the open road where it can triangulate my position at any given time.  I had the '06 up to 120 one time for a couple of seconds, but I've only had the SERGU up to 100 so far.  I never let my '06 SEVrod wind all the way out...too scared.

I will run mine up to 100 every once in a while just for kicks, but ONLY on a road that I know well and has no side access for other drivers in cages.  Even then, it's only for a couple of seconds.  80-85 is fast enough to pass on the super slab, and I normally just set the cruise on 78mph GPS speed and let it eat, depending on the flow of other traffic.  Cars still pass me, even then.

I bet I can get over 200mph with my Fatbob if any of you all will pay the cost of repair...after I push it over a clift. :huepfenlol2:

I don't think 90 or 100 is all that fast on good conditions, for a short period of time, my bike gets there awful quick.  I got right at 120 twice but backed it down not knowing how much if any was left. The difference between a buck and a buck-20 feels significant on a bike without a wind shield.

OK a one word mistake and I get jumped. ;)

I do agree that some bikes are not designed either aerodynamics or suspension/tires to go that fast but I like to know I can if desired.

A Road King with the stock windshield bending over at the top lip when you peg the needle says you are correct  !

Yep and a whole lot easier to get to that buck-20 without a windshield or fairing, too. ;D
