I have the set from the '08 I traded in. With the speakers in the lids on the '12 SG, I'm thinkin' 'bout cutting the front half off and just using the back half. Since I'm stuck at work and don't get the bike 'til Tuesday, I'm not even sure if the back half will fit. Anyone done this.....or any other ideas?

I think what you are looking to do would work, I found these also that you might consider, the tether storages are kind of neat but you will probably have your iPod stored on one of the tethers, I don't know if you like things stored on the bottom of the bags, kind of a pain when you need to get at them. You might also contact this fellow and he could make you something custom. Did you get a reasonable price on your new bike?
