I just did a bunch of 60,000 mile maintenance and found a major drivability issue;

I had all 3 of the hydraulic fluids flushed (for the 2nd time) and changed along with the fork tubes including of coarse the seals. While my guy was doing a minor inspection he found a nail in my front tire (which still had about 5 or 6K miles of tread left) AND one of my rear break pads was about 30 seconds from exposing its backing plate. Both were replaced.

During my trip to Nev., Az., and Ca. last month I was experiencing some major engine pinging from about 2700 to 3200 RPM. ASSuming it was mainly the temperature and maybe some crappy gas here and there, I contacted my tuner shortly after returning home to see if some adjustments could be made. I went in today to see what could be done. Nels listened patiently as I explained what I was experiencing and then went to work. After trying to correct my tune for aWhile he came out of the booth said that no matter what he did he could not adjust it out. Then he explained that it seemed to be a fuel delivery issue. He suggested a fuel filter and if that didn't fix the problem maybe a fresh set of injectors.
So after all was said and done (this was an all day ordeal because of other customers that had appointments) my 60,000 mile original fuel filter WAS the culprit! I feel like such an idiot. I know better, or at least I do now.
So...I should be all good to go...for now.

I had a similar condition on a 03 RKC, some pinging,  embarrasing  backfiring on deceleration and a very lean smell most noticeable in the garage when shutting down.
Bike was under 25,000 miles,  dealer and the indi both said they never need a fuel filter replacement.
So I ordered a new fuel filter and after replacing it all those symptoms went away.
Now you got me thinking that I should be changing the filter on my current 20I5 Limited as regular maintenance.

A fuel filter will now be on my 30K check list especially with the crap quality of gas these days.

Took Big Pete out today to put some break in miles on his new Streetglide Special.

He bought the bike, put 100 miles on it, got a left knee replaced 3 weeks ago and wanted to see if he could ride today!

Knee working good, and bike running fine.

Recently installed a new headlight in the Road King. Dwayne turned me onto a light called Eagle Lights that he saw on a bike that rode into the campground after dark in Myrtle Beach. He was talking to the dude cause the light was so bright and yada yada yada he ordered one.
After talking to him after his initial test I ordered one.

Friday night Susan and I rode til after dark to test the light and all I can say is WOW. They say that their gen3 light is 2100 lumens on dim versus 550 for the HD Daymaker. I have no doubt that their numbers are correct. The light pattern is also spread way out to the sides compared to the Daymaker.

It looks like there are many options for the Eagle Lights. Which one made you so happy? I could use  something better on my 08 RK and the kids want to know what I want for my Birthday.

Gen III with Halo, not that the halo part matters, is what I got and I pretty sure that is what Dwayne got for his 2015 Ultra as well.

The guy Dwayne originally talked to had a Gen I and it was noticeably brighter than Daymaker. Gen III is just the latest and greatest i reckon.

Rode it to Pigeon Forge, TN, (well yesterday actually) rode the Rattler today and it was a great ride once I dried out from the torrential rainfall all the way from Gatlinburg to Maggie Valley.  I honestly think I’d have been drier and warmer if I’d have jumped into a swimming pool!

Washed it, clay bared it, and put on some Wolfgang sio2 paint sealant. Also did the same to Kathy’s bike. Now they are as smooth as a new piece of glass.
