2011 making engine noise (kind of chirping sound) when at idle

Can anyone help me with this.  I hope its not bad news. it is not constant at this point and I only have 10,000 miles on it :( :(

Mine , FLHXSE3, made same noise last summer @ 7,600 miles. Bad Lifter. :'(

Guess I got lucky, my 2011 krypto made it to 11,000 miles before it lost its first set of lifters!! I will bet that's your chirp too.

While it could be many other things much less critical, like heat shields or other parts, considering the history of the 2011 and 2012 model lifter roller failures, I would definitely start by having them checked out.  Don't wait, do it now.  A total failure can trash the engine.  You can find plenty of threads on the site detailing the problems and the recommended replacement parts.  I personally tell people to go with S&S lifters, for what it's worth.

Jerry, thanks ....I think...you were correct " Bad lifter" only 10k on it and they will give me a assessment tomorrow.   Sure glad I have the extended Warranty. BTW THANKS TO YOU ALL WITH THE SAME THOUGHT

My 2012 CVO SG had a loose bolt on the fairing mounts.  Where the turn signals bolt on to the upper forks.  With the engine off, in a quiet place, grab the fairing and try to wiggle it fore and aft.
