Title: Question about touring seat
Post by: rpotter on April 29, 2016, 03:03:43 PM
I have a 2013 Road Glide custom and I would like to put a touring seat on it when I take the bride on trips. I was lookin at the sundowner seat P/N#52093-08A, however it says in the Harley catalog that 12 and later CVO's must remove the fender trim strips. My question is, has anyone tried this seat and do you really have to remove those strips? If so is there a way to modify the seat so you don't have to remove the strips. thanks in advance
Rich

I had a 2012 CVO Street Glide that we put on a tour pack and Sundowner seat on but I didn't remove the strips on it. I guess try it and see how close the rear retaining bracket fits for the screw to hold down the seat with out too much down pressure.

I have the same bike as you.  I've put several seats including the Sundowner without removing the strips.

Me too, I have a mustang touring solo and rear pillion, never do remove the strips. I sometimes put the stocker back on when im riding solo around home. . It sucks on long trips though,.
