I ride alone 99.9% of the time. I bought a solo mount for my tour pack. I only use it when I am traveling. I do have a two-up mount just in case I ever needed it. It is rather comfortable to lean back on.

That is how I have my tour pack mounted also in the solo position and yes it is comfortable to lean back on when riding long trips.

I had the solo position on my 10 SESG. The bike handles much better with the weight over the rear axel rather than behind the rear axel. :2vrolijk_21:

I like it that way as well. since the wife rides her own, and we never ride a pillion, we both set ours up as solo. the difference in ours is that we went with the chopped tourpacks, and the chopped tourpack pads instead of the king packs and armchair backrest. doesn't hold as much, but between 4 saddlebags and 2 chopped packs, if we can't fit it, we don't need it :D

I just installed my solo tour pak mount. I tried the CVO King backrest that came with the tour pak. I switched it to a CVO King backrest with lumbar adjustment. The backrest has an adjustment knob on the side, plus the internal lumbar is adjustable up and down. The backrest is a little thicker and comes forward a hair more. When I run the lumbar adjustment all the way out, it positions me forward a little more. Nice to have some adjustability. Now I'm going to take my heated hammock seat and cut it into a solo. My plan is to re-cover them both and put heat in the backrest, utilizing the passenger control for the backrest heater.
