Title: Dynoed my 08 Springer ANyone else have stats?
Post by: Screamin Eagle Carl on June 23, 2016, 12:08:51 AM
I was in Laconia last weekend. I installed a Dynojet Power Commander V. I dynoed my FXSTSSE2, 08 springer softail. I have Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 1, everything else stock.

My dyno results were 93.98 HP and 116.81 torque. She runs great. No engine pops. Smooth and responsive.

Anyone else have dyno results? I realize the dyno machine is different. Was wondering on a comparison...

I've never dynoed mine I'm pretty sure I saw you in Laconia as I have the same bike with a Thunder headed on it that is a stout torque number. I live about 10 mile from Laconia

Strong running bike.  Do you have the graph from that?

When you did the dyno, was that a dyno+tune, or was it just a dyno-pull with a canned map from the Power Commander vendor?

Here is the dyno chart I got which was exactly for my bike. Speed Performance guys were really pro.

I guess the outcome of this exercise is simple. I always wanted to do this. I finally bit the bullet and opened my wallet. I chose the bike rally as a good place as the guys there do this day in, day out, and the price is better than if I find some guy in my home town to do it. They have a trailer (roadshow) which they go around to the various bike rallies (there are now over 600 in the US) and do this to attendants motorcycles.

My Springer runs better than ever. The air fuel mixture is perfect now. There are no more pops coming out of the motor. It is smoother than ever. I will do this for every bike I own and am planning on getting this done on my Mustang GT as well. Worth it. IT will pay me back in increased fun not too mention increased gas mileage and lower emissions.

I am one happy rider!

I had the mechanics install a power commander V (Dynojet), change the 3 fluids, and put in racing spark plugs. I highly recommend doing the oil change as well. My bike had less than 600 miles on the oil. I changed it anyways. I showed the chart from my actual tune. They also calibrate the throttle as part of it.

Thanks, the dyno chart answered my question.  Where it shows "Carl_002.drf," that indicates they did 2 "pulls," so it's a canned map.  It takes a lot more pulls to build a custom map.  Any map that runs that well has to be pretty close.

Thanks

Hey, I apologize for not replying sooner. I believe the total bill for this service (dyno, Power Commander install, oil and fluids change, and a minor mechanical fix) was around 500 bucks at Laconia.
