Got a text message from Pete forwarded to me by a friend. He's feeling great. They're keeping him one more night just to be cautious, because of the blood thinners he's on. Should be headed home tomorrow.

Just got off the phone with him. After they release him from the Hospital he and Julie will be staying in Tenn for a few more days. He wants to make sure he is up to the drive back to Va.

I informed him on the whereabouts and condition of his scooter.

All,

Was going to lay low on the site till the docs kicked me outta here, but that day has come and I'm being discharged today. Julie and I will stay in Chattanooga tonight and tomorrow before we start the drive home Thursday.

Both Julie and I thank you for all the prayers, support and well wishes sent to us. It was a horrific fall from eyewitness accounts and probably shook up those who saw it more than me. I was conscious throughout and when I finally rolled to stop, I knew I was ok except for some bad road rash and bruises. No broken bones, head trauma or any other internal injuries. Remember: WEAR YOUR LEATHERS AND A REAL HELMET! There endth the lesson!

Have had nothing but time to think about what happened and now think I have a pretty good idea how it happened which I will share when I get home. If my "experience" can prevent something like this happening to someone else, then my fall will have been worth it.

One last thing to leave with you, after the accident as cars were passing by the scene, one car stopped with parents and a little boy inside. This little boy had cancer and he removed his "Super Ben", "Couger Strong" bracelet and asked Howie to give it to me because I needed it more than him.

Praise God Pete, you're a testimony to the outreaching grace of God, he was there, and spoke to us all thru a child, you have quite a story and lesson to share about Gods intervention and about motorcycles too, I believe God puts us together for this cause, to thank him for his goodness and share one another's burdens thru the power of prayer, you haven't done all you can do until you've prayed, we'll keep you in ours. Just to let everyone know that Julie and I finally made in home this afternoon. I'm on the mend day to day and actually feel pretty damn good. I've also been reunited with my bike and she also looks better than I thought. Got plenty of things to do and time to think, but wanted to thank you all again for the prayers and best wishes. My bike has been declared a total loss so I'm in the market for a 2009 O/B SE Road Glide as a replacement. I've located one in Madison, WI and am looking for a site member near there to check it out. It's for sale with a motorsports dealer who doesn't have a clue about the bike.

Creature comforts first. Ordered Corbin classic solo with heat, oval backrest and 50's pillion. Once that is on, we'll see if any changes to handlebars are needed, however, kinda liking the stock bars. 10" dark gray Freedom recurve windshield, progressive monotubes upfront and Suspension Tech rear shocks off my '04.

Bike has stock pipes with cat and mufflers. Considering several options from mild to wild, but will make that decision when I get to ride a little as is. So many more options than were available in 2006 for sure!
