Any one put on 10" bars on 05 SEEG
« on: April 03, 2014, 02:20:59 PM »

Got a set of Kst Kustom  10 “ Mayhem  bars and manufacture  says they fit without changing any any lines or cables.  My installer is putting bars on calls and says all fit  but the  front brake line will not fit.   Anybody put on any 10” apes and have same problem? Thanks

He's probably correct, the front brake lines do not have much extra cable at all. The chubby 575's are a 10" bar and they also require a brake line change.

I went with 12" bars and used +4 on all the lines. So probably on 10" bars you may need at least +2 on the brake line.

Have put 10" bars on Electra Glides/Street Glides a few times.  It's been a crap shoot so far as lines are concerned.  Most of the time have had to.  Couple times didn't.  Sometimes you can reroute a bit and gain some effective length.

Geez Bryan - where ya been?

I did the 575's and just went with the brake lines from the get go, left the throttle cables alone.
A week after doing the bars I replaced the throttle cables................

As Don mentioned, some have to make the changes, some don't.

I would prepare for it the though. Sometimes it now seems a bit more challenging finding some of the old bike parts.

And make sure you replace the two piece bar clamp with a single piece billet clamp.

My gawd didn't even notice who asked the question.  Sweet!  The Miss Poon Tang award winner!

How you doing Bryan?  Are the bars going on one of the bikes you brought that year or are they gone for new projects/toys?  Hope all is very very well with you and yours :2vrolijk_21: .

Thanks for info guys I ended up just going with a longer brake line. Gonna see how the other lines rerouted work before I change them.

Duane and Don.   I have been good just been more of a lurker the last few years layin low..  Thanks for asking. I need to try and get to an event sometime soon to see you all again and meet some of the newer members.   I put these bars on my Banana to get a little change and add some cool factor.
