Probably would fit better on Thunderstar then it would on a Detonator. It's definitely nice, I like the way it's opened up between mounting bolts. Let's more of the wheels show. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] When I first saw them I was thinking how nice that would have been if they did the Detonator rotors like that, but I guess three points for mounting the rotors to wheels might not have been enough to hold them together. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

That paint is "popping" also. If only it had the hard saddlebags on it, it would be the "total" package. IMHO

Hazer thanks for sharing. I can't believe that your friend has the bike in garage and he isn't out riding. ;D

Thanks for the pics Hazer.  The paint on the Road King is excellent.  Dood is right about the bags, hardbags would make this perfect.

Anyone know what the plastic looking covers in the filler strips are for? (Besides filling a hole.)

Probably since they didn't put that SUBT under the license plate they had to put it some where. And of course they had to put 2 SUBT on filler strips to match! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

It just might be the deal for the thunderstar wheels.....5 spokes and the chrome looks like it's polished out good........not sure how it would look on the 3 spoke detonators either, but I'll be checking them out in person asap.  I like a lot of what I've seen in these pics.....looks like this is gonna be a 'keeper', huh?   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  spyder

They look like they are from a Street Glide where the antenna would be, I did not notice the light in the fender tip though?

That was my first thought too.  So maybe for 07 to lower the number of part numbers all the filler strips come that way?

Agreed, that bike is begging for a set of painted hard bags.  It just is a cheap cop out by the MOCO on an otherwise beautiful bike not to have done that.  Bet you I am not alone in my thinking and that it will hurt the sales of these bikes.

YOU KNOW THAT WAS ON DUMB ENGINEER THAT THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO MOUNT A RADIO ANTENNA. :-/  IF YOU MOUNT A TOUR PACK, YOU NEED TO ADD SOME MORE CABLE AND RE-ROUTE,TO CONNECT THE ANTENNA.

I was wondering about the rubber dealies on the filler strips, maybe a wild guess but it's possible that when they're removed you can use the saddlebag guard rails that normally don't work with the filler strips. At least without sheet metal modifications.

Want to see a '07 SERK red paint job!!

Think I'll see about ordering the iginition switch with the bling-bling CVO ring and CVO logo on the switch. Hmmmm.............

Saw that and really liked it too.  Except for the damned saddlebags the Road King is a sweet looking ride from what we can see in the pictures so far.  Looking forward to seeing one in person.  Want to bet that it's the fastest seller of the CVO models this year?

Sorry, tried to attach multiple pics, only the last one posted, will try again.
You can only post one picture at a time as an attachment. If you have the pictures hosted somewhere else then you can just use the "insert image" tag and put the url in there and post multiple images in the post itself that way.

the tag is for a single image, cant be a link to a page

would look like this without the space between the "g ]"

Well, Joe.......I've spent enough of my life in those swamps around Columbus, Ga (Benning's School for Boys) but anyway, you are battling an area that has kicked my butt......I've still got problems figuring how to post pics on here.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] har!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] spyder

I asked one of the Harley folks about the plugs in the filler strips when I was at the civic center in Rapid City.  They are removed to allow for the installation of the optional tour pack on the bike.  They've got a leather tour pack option that has the same embossing in the leather like the tops of the saddle bags.  It would have been nice for them to include this on a $28K+ bike.  Probably will be included next year.

Anyone know how to remove those ugly reflectors on the forks? I was thinking a heat gun and some fishing line. Any other suggestions ??
Agree totally.  They are UGLY.  Had my dealer remove them from my '06 'melon before I took delivery.  Think you can shoot some WD40 where they attach and use fighing line to saw them off.  Anyway, looks 100% better without them IMNTBHO.  [smiley=banana.gif]

We don't own a heat gun, we used a hair dryer, and the suggested fishing line.  Came right off.  Now those silly stickers on the bars............... all of them, are tricky to get all off too.  Patience, and persistance usually pays off in the end.

Yep or just park it in the sun for a couple of hours on a hot day and carefully start pulling from the top. Get your finger under the tape and slowly pull it down, quick clean and those ugly things are history.

I just removed the ugliness of my scott this a.m. using the hair drier. Worked great. I also slipped of the reflectors from the saddle bags. She sure is getting some of my attitude and style now. I can't say how much I enjoy this site.

Hmmmm, wonder how that rotor would look on a Thunderstar?

I wonder why the rotor doesn't match the wheel?

The rotors are V Rod style. It looks really nice and you can see alot more of the wheel. Also easier to clean. It is a very nice touch. The wife really likes the leather saddle bags. We started with a 1999 RK Classic because it had leather saddle bags. Buying the bike for her all started over her need for cruise control. Mighty expensive cruise control. She was riding a 2005 deluxe. We attended the National HOG Rally and covered 5600 miles in 12 days. Thats what stared the cruise control search. Well it got her a really nice bike.  :)
