Don't believe everything you read. Especially bumper stickers or the decals
in back windows of pick-up trucks. Real grits is cooked and but they is hard to peel. Peeling the grits unlocks the full flavor and aroma. Any true redneck knows about peeling grits.

These are unpeeled grits and can be hard to deal with. They can make a sane man go goofy, or worse!

Wife makes the best shrimp and grits I've ever eaten to date.   :2vrolijk_21:

She got the recipe from a restaurant in Savanna GA and a bowl will make a puppy pull a freight train, LOL.

Wow a festival for grits. Just finished a bowl with butter.
Only way to eat 'em...as long as they're not instant.

Been a grit, butter, salt, sometimes cheese man for years. Did not know there was a festival! There is a Cornbread Festival close to me in South Pittsburg Tennessee, I think end of this month. They cook some strange things with cornbread.

The annual watermelon festival in Hampton SC is coming up in June or July. But it isn't the world festival like the Grits.
