I have an 05 se fatboy only 22 miles hurt my back right after i got it 7 months later got the bug for a 06 se vrod found a dealer 300miles away that will trade for $500 out of pocket, deal or nodeal?
Appreciate any thoughts,

I'd bet you could sell the 05 locally or on ebay for close to what you paid for it, buy the 06 for someplace about $24k and pocket the rest. You should look at some of the threads about the 'rods though. Most state if you're over 5'11" or so, you're not going to be comfortable on a rod. Great looking bike, though. I've stared at a few of them here locally.

The problem is everyone wants the 06 fatboy to ask anywhere near what I paid no way the best I could hope for is 24.5K and I have not found a se vrod around these neck of the woods for less than 25K so if you add tax and all the other bull that goes with a purchase I would be paying more than $500 more like $1500-2K it is very confusing and the market for a used CVO bike is not great. Thanks

A buddy of mine just sold one at the dealership where he works for 29,000 plus freight and setup and taxes and tags!!!!! It that time of year.

The ride from a FB to a VR is completely different. If you are comfortable on it and its what you want for $500 I would say GO FOR IT!

Anytime you can make a trade from something you don't want to something you do want, $500 is cheep.
Just my opinion...

Just keep in mind that the CVO market for a FB is about twice as great as it is for the V-Rod. There's still over 200 new 05's in the system behind dealer cost and plenty of 06's that in most parts of the country can be bought at $500 over including freight and setup. JMHO, but even up would be doing the dealer a big favor. The market is what the market is and V-rods aren't exactly setting the world on fire.

If anyone can show me where they can buy a 06 sevrod for $500 over invoice I would like to see it.
Also I put my 05 SEFATBOY up for sale on this forum a month ago for $24K this bike has 22 miles on it and I did not get one person asking about it, so how strong is this market for an 05 being that the 06 has the new tire and wheels? I understand that the market goes up and down but there are dealers in NJ who have SE fatboys but are sold out of se vrods. It all depends on what part of the country you live in.
It is a very hard deceision to make, but the stealers in NJ are willing to give me 20k they are F___king nuts so I'm a little bit pissed at these guys who sell you a bike at top dollar then rape you when you want to get something else. Just my 2 cents

I think he's talking about 500 over MSRP, which ain't a bad deal on a CVO. I felt lucky to get my Ultra for MSRP plus freight and set up..Everybody else around here gets from 1 to 4 K over, plus set up and freight.
There's a red '05 in Mobile (SEV) and an orange '06 with 26, 495 on the tag...I think that's MSRP on that model.

Ok guys I will see what people on this forum think of a 05 SE Fatboy with 22 miles on it. I will put it on the sell forum.

Your giving up your 05 FB for a 06 VR for $500 out of your pocket? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
If so It'd be gone already. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] It appears you don't have any interest in the FB so send it down the road. [smiley=banana.gif]
As far as the dealers offering you less than what you paid for it, that is the way it works. This can't be your first time dealing with any sort of auto dealer. :) They give trade in or wholesale value and sell at retail. [smiley=confused5.gif] They have to make money on the resale. Someone has to pay the electric bill. :D
