Shocking Question!!
« on: April 23, 2024, 11:12:24 AM »

Just noticed my 2010 Ultra Classic (not CVO) has a leaking rear shock.  I've been wanting to upgrade the rear shocks on the 2015 Ultra CVO.  Are there any differences between the two shocks?  Can I just swap the 2015 shocks over to the 2010?  I seldom ride the 2010 so don't really want to spend a lot of money for new shocks just to sit most of the time.
Any thoughts on what shocks would give a slightly better ride on the 2015 Ultra CVO??  I've not really been unhappy with the way it has ridden for 65K miles but I'm sure there is "better than stock" rear shocks available.
Thanks

Those shocks will fit either bike (and quite a few other years) check the spacers as you reinstall them.
There are “better than stock “ shocks available.
Usually it’s the more they cost, the better they are! Some of my friends ride the stock shocks and are happy.
I have “premium shocks” on all of my bikes, but I’m old and have a tender backside.

Thanks!  I contacted SuperShox and he thinks the Premium shocks at $875.00 is what I need.  I may go ahead and do it.
I can totally relate about the old and tender backside.  Like a good friend of mine says "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself".  But then again, maybe not!!

I ran those on my 15 CVORGU and loved them. Using the relocation brackets to sit the bike lower is a bonus. The brackets are designed to keep the geometry the same as stock. I still have them sitting here to go on my '24 RG if I can't get these newer style stock shocks dialed in to my liking.

I just ordered the SuperShox Premium LT.  It may take up to 6 weeks to get them.  I'll let everyone know what I think after installed and ridden for a few hundred miles.
