Had a Samsung galaxy last couple years, no problems with SMS. Went and switched to an iPhone 7 and this is the message I get. I've tried removing it from the Boom and relinking it. Nothing seems to work. Any experts out there and how to get this thing to work?

I have never been able to get the SMS to work with my iPhone 6S.

In settings, click on Bluetooth, then click on the blue i & make sure Show Notifications is on. See if that helps

there is some confusion on this. My iphone 7 does work with the boom.....sometime. I have yet to ring this out as to how and why.
A couple of things that I will be checking.....
1. iphone setting on messaging, SMS vs Imessages If you notice sometimes your messages are blue (imessage) and some are green (SMS). Not sure if blue messages will sync.
2. Never had past messages sync to boom...but have had few messages show up while unit is tethered to boom. Not sure is there is a push setting on iphone that needs to set.
3. Need to check if there is any difference whether connected by bluetooth or USB.
4. Does it make a difference if the messaging app is open on the phone.
5. The auto reply, to my knowledge has never worked.

Have you gone into the iphone SETTINGS -> BLUETOOTH and selected HD RADIO, then tapped on the INFO icon and turned NOTIFICATIONS ON? If you don't do this it will not work.

Thanks to all for advice and input due to rain, mother in law breaking arm, and work have only had the chance to switch notifications on for the iPhone. I will try texting again by the weekend. I truly love CVO Harley.com, a great group of people.

Correct, has to be set in the phone like above.
You will get notification of new messages, and it will read them to you.
It will not auto reply, this is an apple issue, apple will not enable it.
