The Performance Machine caliper went on my 08 without any modifications. I did all the work myself and put 5k miles on it with no issues. It used all the stock lines, the only real concern was making sure I used the correct shims to get the caliper centered on the disc. I can't speak for the 09 Harley caliper, but there was a very noticable difference between the 08 stock caliper and the Performance Machine 4-piston caliper. In fact, PM posts all the data on their website. The stock 1 piston harley caliper vs. the PM 4 piston caliper have almost a 30 ft stopping distance difference at 60 mph.

Oh, and they look amazing in chrome :)

Chriscraig

Based on your link, it looks like they have 3 different calipers.  Do you have a Performance Machine part # for the caliper you chose?

Thanks much,

I purchased mine through J&P Cycles. Here's the J&P Part Number: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/241-068

You also need the mounting bolts: 0109-0100-CH

If you want the matching rear brake it is P/N: 1256-0077-CH

Those are all Chrome P/N's. You'll need to call them if you want the Polished or Black instead.

I thought I had read somewhere that just replacing the disc pads would improve the braking performance.

Got any pics and reviews of the finished product?
