Just out of curiosity, does anyone have the counts on how many of these were made?

2500 overall, mostly black.

I just obtained the production numbers for the 2009 Screaming Eagle Springer from the Motor Company. They are as follows;

Yellow with Orange Flames - US (315), Foreign (95), Total (410)
Blue with Silver Flames - US (550), Foreign (212), Total (762)
Black with Greem Flames - US (745), Foreign (250), Total (995)
Special - US (4), Foreign (1), Total (5)

Total overall production - US (1,614), Foreign (558), Total (2,172)

And one of those US yellow ones is sitting in my garage!

From what I could derive from the person I spoke with, they are custom colors for Harley employees or "celebrity types".

Just picked this up on the 17th. Slighly used 2009 model with 2008 miles. Original owner gave it a custom paint job. Original paint was the black. One could only guess how the specials look, but I very much like the custom paint on this one.

Did the original owner have the frame painted too? Wasn't that frame originally in the black flake paint? I would think that might contrast with the skull paint scheme. I can't see in the photo.

I'll try to get clarification from the dealer, as they did the paint job through another company. I don't really have another to compare it to, but it looked to be a solid black with no green flakes. Haven't had it for long, will go out and look at it in the bright sun as well.

I'll get a better picture up, but the black does have a very small amount of flake in it. I had to get right up on it to see it, but standing back you don't really notice it. The tops of the paint job fade to black as you hit the midpoints.

Is that the wide springer front end the pic look like the narrow front with a 21 inch narrow tire I thought all the 09 had the fatter front tire?

Can't remember if they beefed up the front tire, but they did beef up the rear.

Here's the stock tire sizes for the 09 (Dunlop):

Front: 18 in. D407F 130/70R18
Rear: 18 in. D407 240/55R18
