SE Componsator kit

Hi,
I've got an 08 FLHRSE4 thats got the start up bang and smoke out the air cleaner'from what I've read up it looks like I need a SE compensator,question is do I need a rotor? is there a complete kit as there seems to be a few part numbers about,could anyone tell me the part numbers I need or better if theres a kit with everything to do the job?

so I definatly needthe rotor?
what about the baker kit thats just out,would it be a better option than the HD kit?

The "08 definitely needs the new style rotor.  As for the Baker unit, I haven't seen any details so I can't help you with that.  Changing the rotor isn't that big a deal btw.  It's part number 30041-08A and the MSRP is $105.  You can get them at one of the discount dealers for around $85.

If you go with the HD SE 2014 comp you will also need the "Compensaver" otherwise it will chew itself to pieces due to lack of
lubrication, see the Compensaver website,  would give it while before going with the baker unit until some feedback is available.

I replaced the comp. last year. Installed the compsaver along with a Hayden chain tensioner and a clutch-wiz with a 480 # spring. Everything is great. No noise smooth shifting, almost like my old Honda!  ;D
