Title: fxstsse3 front end paint scheme
Post by: TrAnc on December 07, 2017, 03:13:57 PM
Hey guys
I have a question , I am a new owner cvo springer 2009 , and my question is about frontend paint because bike is candy blue and frame is blue , but frontend is more purple than blue. depends of angle what you are looking , sometimes it fits with frame , sometimes its more purple.
Greetings

Hmmmm, I believe I just saw a guy on Bookface that just bought a bike like that from MOW!! Congrat's on the new ride! If that is YOU and that is the same BIKE, that bike was great looking!  :worthless:

Two potential scenarios here

The tank and fenders are (WERE) painted by Gunslinger , the forks were (ARE) painted by the fork supplier/manufacturer or by the HD factory ( not Gunslinger !)

Metallic/Pearl paints can be different if painted by the same paintshop on a different day or time of year , different paint shops entirely make even more potential difference.

OR , the bike has had a front end bingle at some stage and "new" forks have been ordered and fitted several years after the bike was first built

If the bike is otherwise straight then it's no biggie , just enjoy !

just curious ;) bike is original paint , no re-paint or changed parts. fenders , headlamp shell and tank is painted by gunslinger. frame and front end is painted by powder coating thats the difference between these parts. Even frame in some spots looks totally different paint scheme , near vin number is more blue than purple ;)

just part of the "mystery" then...

In the past I had occasion to order a CVO rear fender thru' my local Australian HD dealer , I wanted "genuine" paint , not a repaint here even tho' they're quite good

3 months+ from order to my receipt in Perth Western Australia ( albeit the fender came seafreight I believe at the time !)
