dealers

I read that the new hd management, in February, said that there would be fewer dealers and less inventory.. Is this true? Is there some list of who is going away?

Have you got a link to the article or statement?  Is it HD speaking or someone suggesting for them?  The article itself should go a long way toward answering the question.

Old news. That was announced last year when the new guy took over. Lots of little dealerships losing their franchise.

And folks losing income due to the legitimacy of the virus doesn't help either.  It's not surprising.  Maybe when/if HD gets their head screwed on straight things will turn around and more dealerships will open.  But I'm guessing in true HD style we'll see fewer full on dealerships and more "boutique" shops open.  It's easier for most folks to buy a T-Shirt than a $37K motorcycle and HD recognizes that.

There are almost as many Harley obituary threads here as What Kind of Oil is Best? threads.

(with apologies to Willie S.)
"Friends, riders, Hog members, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Harley Davidson, not to praise them.
The unreliability that their engineers do lives after them;
The good bikes are oft blamed with their bad bikes;
So let it be with Harley.
The noble CEO Zeitz
Hath told you Harley was ambitious and doing well:
If only were it so, it was yet another load of corporate BS."

He hath brought many upgrades to Milwaukee whose corporate pockets they did fill.
When the 110s grenaded the Moco wept not. Ambition is made of this stern stuff.
Yet riders says he was not generous, and they are all honorable men.
You all did see at the HOG rally the thrice introduction of newer designed bikes.
And denied you saw them delivered. Was this corporate greed?
