What about the S&S 143?
JoeVibe:
S&S says:
"This is an ultra performance/race engine. Longevity, engine noise, vibration and throttle sensitivity have all been compromised to reach this level of performance while fitting in a stock chassis and as such is not suitable for every situation."
So, has anyone installed one yet? I'm curious how much longevity and reliability have been compromised, assuming it's not used as an all out race engine.

A friend of mine has one in his 15 Street Glide.
He has almost 10K miles on it.
It is a tire shredder.

This vid is a year old but gives some feedback about the motor characteristics.
Here's one in a Dyna! :vrolijk27:
Way too much motor for me!
JCZ:
Almost $10k for the motor and then you're going to have to upgrade the rest of the drive train to stand up to what this motor is going to put out. But damn it'd be a lot of fun........
Unbalanced:
Joe,
There are tradeoffs you have to be ready to accept if you do something like this. Belts, Mainshafts, Driveability (low speed), gas mileage, heat / traffic and being ultra conservative in the rain, clutch pull and feel.
Does the HD compensator stand up to this or are you relegated to a solid sprocket I dont have have a newer compensator since my bike is an 02 so i have no experience there?
Can you get a clutch that will handle the power, will you be able to pull it in over and over in traffic or at a light, how hard will it be to pull in a clutch under big power.
Guess in time the feedback will be out there.
