Harley 2" pull back handle bars
« on: December 21, 2010, 10:11:30 PM »

Who has installed these?
I was going to put them on my new SG but after the dealer told me I needed $600+ in parts and a couple hours labor, I've chickened out. If you've installed these can you tell me if all those parts are really needed.
Twist grip sensor kit
Tranny side gasket
Diamondback clutch cable
  "      "         ABS brake line
  "      "         34" upper brake line
Handlebar
2 plugs

I installed a set on a 08 ultra classic. I installed a new throttle sensor and reused all other brake lines and clutch cable. Don't see why the cvo would be any different.  I know the guy I installed them for really likes them.

I have the Harley Touring Pullbacks......2" up, 2" back.  Jim (hd-dude on this forum) did the work.  Put the same bars on my wife's 09 Street Glide.

On her bike, she stayed with the fairing mounted mirrors and just pulled the bars back (down) a little more......she doesn't have any problems with getting full view in her mirrors.  On my 10 SESG I went with handle bar mounted mirrors and a solid inner fairing (had it painted to match).

I can tell you that the catalog and web site are both wrong......the bars are not polished stainless steel, they are chrome!  Also, no new wires or cables were needed.....just a slight re-routing of the lines.

I put these bars on 2 bikes (myself):

2009 FLHX-nothing needed but the bars.  Did have to reroute clutch cable but did not have to disconnect from transmission.

2010 SEUC-nothing needed but the bars.

Should be 56176-08, or 55914-98 for the 07 and older models.

all 1 1/2"-2" pull back bars that i have done every thing on the right side will fit. but on the left side the clutch cable must be replaced with a longer cable or it
will bind when you turn the bars to the right.

I think some of the replies refer to the standard SG. Of course the CVO SG doesn't have cables.
