Ah, you were in December, that explains it.  However, I did note something in you photo that I never noticed before.  I see a Harley bar and shield logo on your tire, never knew that was there...

Your mysterious 349 number is a sequence number. It was the 349th bike sequenced to be built that day.

I hear ya Brad. I know it is not like the 2008 Road Kings which had the emblem with #000 OF 1800 or the blacked out Ultras with #000 of 999 plaques BUT at the end of it all. emblem or not it is bike number 349 out of 3700.

I don't think so you have the 349th bike built that day off the production line. Since all bikes are built on the same production line.

So what do we know? What does the MoCo say about that number? Somebody tell me before I get my hopes up, because I got mine back in August when they were first released...too bad I'm forward deployed right now or I'd be out in the garage lookin' for that number...lol

349 is a blemish code that returns the bike back to quality control to fix a seen issue with the bike :o :o :o

So what are you saying Brad is that there are multiple numbers out there? Are you saying that each week (or how ever long it takes to build a bike) they build a bike the following week they reuse that number again? Why would they put it on the build sheet if it did not mean something. Just wondering do other H.D. Bikes have this production/sequence number or do they just have a VIN number?  :nixweiss:


We know that there are only 3700 SG's being made in 2011. If the number is used again and again then yes i can see it as a sequence or a production number but if the number is NOT reused it has to be a one of 3700.
